I had thick and long hair and have hard time getting strong straighteners/curling irons. The heats controls and smoothness of this product is commendable. It is easy to pack and has enough cord length. Honestly, the lock mechanism was a bit annoying though I liked that it can be closed. After almost 2 years, it broke on me and I asked for customer service. They had very fast customer service and sent me a replacement as quick as they can (actually within 2 days). They just needed me to send a quick video of malfunction which is understandable. I proposed to send it back but they trusted me. I’ve been using this brand for over 5 years. I recently had an issue and contacted customer service and they responded immediately and took care of the issue promptly. The customer service from Rain was impeccable. She was very thorough and she responded quickly to each of my emails. The hair straightener itself is a great product. I love that it comes with a case for traveling. The heat mit and clips are very useful. The straightener is light weight and heats up quickly. It leaves my hair shiny and works quickly. I have used so many hair straighteners and paid a lot of money in the past for them. This works better than ALL of them combined. The shape of the straightener is a little bit curved so I can easily add curls and waves in literally ONE attempt. My other straighteners are flat on the plastic part so it takes a lot more effort to make a curl. This has a curved outside so it makes beautiful curls. I always put loose waves in my hair with my straightener and I'm so pleased that it left my hair soft and shiny. It heats up so fast I didn't even realize it was ready to go in 10 sec! I love the carrying and organizer pouch. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and was very concerned this would be a bad flat iron, but I can confirm the reviews! This is a great buy! I know my three sisters are going to go nuts over it once they see how amazing my hair looks!!! hahaha! In comparison to other irons, this also has a higher temperature range so it gets hot enough temperature for coarse/thick hair like mine. I tried it at 410 and it worked perfectly, and it didn't feel like it was burning my hair at all. My hair was also cool to the touch which is unusual for a flat iron. This was worth the investment and I'm so excited to get my hair looking great every day now. I bought this because my last flat iron that I paid $100 bit the dust when I dropped it by accident. It didn't work that great anyway honestly and I really had to work at it... I'm very happy to have paid less for an even better, safer and more efficient product. This one glides so easily through my hair without snagging at all. I didn't realize there was a gold color and got the champagne gold. But I like the champagne too. I have been using hair straighteners to curl my hair for over a decade now and I never had an issue. This one is tricky to get all your curls the same. I think the issue is your hair slides off it so easily, which isn’t necessarily a con, I prefer my hair to slide instead of get stuck. It straightens hair very fast and my hair looks sleek and shiny. There is so smell, I use it at 375 for my fine silky hair. (I have a lot of hair). Lightweight and pretty too. Feels like a luxurious brand. ... show more

UPDATE: the company reached out directly to me and sent me a new straightener. This tells me that my original straightener going out was a fluke, and that the company stands by their product. 5-stars from me, I do love this straightener. It heats up quickly and gets hot enough. I will have to get used to the silicone grip that keeps it together, but that shouldn’t be a problem, as I typically only use that for travel. HUGE thank you to the company for making this right and standing by their product! Original review: I have had a revlon hair dryer for nearly 20 years. I bought this thing 2.5 years ago and it stopped getting hot enough to do anything to my hair. I can’t say I’m surprised, they make products to last just beyond the warranty date.     • Wonderful Straightener But Lock and Hing Broke

I would have given this product a 5 star rating, but the lock mechanism stopped working within 6 months of using it and then the actual lock/unlock button broke and fell off the straightener. Now the hinge in the straightener will randomly lock and not let the it full close. Other then this issue, the straightener is amazing and wonderful to use.
