It’s MDF, so drill pilot holes. If you wana take it a step further use some bees wax when setting the screws.

    • May not fit newer 8” subs
I had no problem with the rings themselves, and felt they were well made. However, though it did fit (seated) the older sub I was replacing, it did not fit the 8” Infinity Kappa sub (wider bottom) I was upgrading to. I have seen where one reviewer sanded the ring down to make it fit; but as cost was minimal, I simply cut in half to make it work for me. ... show more

    • 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara spacer for sub factory mount.
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara was the vehicle I needed this for. Aftermarket Sub was a little deep. 2 spacers gave me the room to mount the speaker and another ring to mount the grill. It's wood and fabric how can you give it less than a 5?
