I was a little nervous to buy this seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews. You never know if they are all fake reviews, however, I took the chance. It was a gift for my boyfriend after all! He REALLY wants to play Pokemon again, but he lost his DS years ago and I wanted to surprise him with it. Even just opening it myself gave me a blast from the past! Regardless, I bought the DS specifically from "Console Replay." I don't know if that makes a difference in the quality, but I thought I'd include it just in case anyone is curious. The DS works well so far though! The sound is good, the screens are not scratched or broken, and the buttons seem to work (other than the direction pad, it is a tiny bit loose. Overall though it still works). The game slot sounds like it might have some grime in it, but I inserted a game card and the game still ran. Awesome! The exterior is pretty clean too and had the stylus inside. The stylus was working well and wasn't broken despite those things being the easiest part to break or lose. The best part though was that it came with its own charger. I really enjoyed not having to buy a separate cord for the device. Unfortunately, I don't have any gameboy cartriges so I wouldn't be able to test it out, but I'm sure it would work well too based off of everything else. Overall, it was a pretty good buy. I'm glad I did take that chance, although I hope nothing changes with the DS (quality wise) in the meantime. ... show more

Everything worked perfectly minus the charger. It didn’t work so I opened it and saw that one of the cables wasn’t attached so I mended the wire to the main plug and sorta fixed it. Although it charges now it takes a long time to fully charge. Thanks

The screens aren’t cracked or broken. The GBA slot has a cover on it, the stylus isn’t chewed it’s in perfectly good shape. The edges are slightly yellow and the arrow keypad is a little loose. It came with a charger. I have yet to try out both the DS slot and the GBA slot I’m pretty happy with my purchase despite the discoloration and loose arrow keypad. ... show more

I am only giving this item 1 star for the simple reason of the bottom screen being inoperable. This Nintendo DS Lite came promptly, was very clean, and works completely fine, save for the bottom screen. Volume seems to be good, too. UPDATE: After contacting the seller, they offered to send me a completely new DS Lite, a 10$ refund, and a free game after returning my inoperable DS Lite. I couldn’t be happier with the customer service, and I’m excited to start playing my new DS Lite! UPDATE #2: Just received my replacement DS Lite, and the TOP screen is inoperable now. Just totally fizzes out when a game starts. If only their products were as good as their customer service. I’m returning it for a full refund. Don’t bother buying one of these. ... show more

    • Don't buy. Stopped working quickly, Customer service slightly helpful

It was working fine but after about 4 months, you know, right after the return by date, it was having issues with turning on and off. As in no matter what you did it would keep turning on automatically and sometimes immediately blink off without input or warning. You could try the power button and that would help turn it off properly for a while or turn it on properly for a minute or two before blinking off again. Their customer service was prompt and courteous, for a time. It was of course "too late" for me to send it in for a replacement or repair but they offered suggests and ideas on how to fix the problem. Which I tested to no avail. Eventually they just stopped contacting me saying they're researching my unique problem. The DS was useful for one thing though: The part I needed. My issue with my old DS lite was that it had a broken hinge, a broken shoulder button, and ultimately the bottom touchscreen didn't work. Otherwise it worked like a charm, DS and GBA games played without issue except for that touch screen. So what I did was that I migrated the motherboard of my old DS and put it in the shell of the new one. And swapped out the touchscreen. So now I have a working DS with all the functions I needed in the first place. But these guys can only take partial credit for sending me a whole shell with a working touchscreen. A motherboard that fails after only a few months conveniently immediately after the return date is just a bad look and poor form. Don't get anything from these folks unless you're interested in overpaying for replacement parts. These guys basically forced me to learn how to open up Nintendo DS lites and replace parts in them. ... show more
