  • Diverse variety of play settings ranging from urban air and ground combat in SE Asia, to snow combat in Soviet region and jungle combat
  • Blending of traditional COD, and new first-person character scenarios designed to both retain the essence of the COD gaming experience and ensure constantly flowing and varied action
  • New arsenal of weapons and vehicles tied to the Cold War era, including the SR-71 Blackbird and sited explosive-tipped crossbows

Description

On the heels of last year's hit Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops will insert you behind enemy lines again, this time during the Cold War, when large governments were officially not involved in the affairs of smaller countries, but unofficially trying to either topple or prevent the toppling of those dominoes. So when you're thrown into the boots of elite special forces units engaged in covert warfare, you'd better succeed, because anyone who can help you will say "What mission?" in this era of "deniable operations" in explosive conflicts around the globe.

  • Yeah, COD on the DS. and it's BLACK OPS!
Platform For Display: Nintendo DS Edition: Standard
I admit, I have the WII edition of this game and it's better yes, but this one has some cool things in it. I will start with a pros and cons list, pros first. PROS -Call of Duty Black Ops for the DS! -Lots of missions and mini game to help you keep playing. -Zombies is the best, but hard! More of a challenge. -The guns feel and look great on a piklelated screen. -This games campaign is not the same on the console one, but they are both about two of the guys (Sgt. Michale Shaw and Capt. Alex Massion.) as the story will say stuff for each of the characters. CONS -The story, while decent, ends after the last missions with no one "After Mission Debrifing". It makes me wonder what happened and why there isn't a Call of Duty Black Ops ll for the 3ds. -Zombies have an unfair advantage on you, one hit and your dead. You also have a one hit kill weapon till wave eight then you need to get the power ups. -I have not been able to try the multiplayer yet as DS has shut down the online servers and there are no bots for local. My sister has a DS, but won't get this game. Over all, this is possibly the best DS game ever. Save your money and get this game AND a console version and have a load of fun! ... show more

  • YEAH COD FOR DS

I am so thrilled they made COD games for the DS system! I got my son the 2ds ( which I chose because it plays both original DS games and the new 3ds games). I was so happy to see they made the COD series! You can get them all but the only one I found on amazon so far was this one. This happens to be my son's favorite COD game along with the second black ops. He likes the Zombie modes that only come on Black ops. ... show more

Really great product. I bought this for a 10 year old boy I babysit often, and because we live in different states, I had to have a lot of faith in purchasing this game. Although the controls are a little more difficult, and the graphics a bit less than stellar, this is still a great match: At this age, this boy is ready to move on from the lego genre games, but is not yet ready for incredibly advanced/mature games. There is a sort of limited amount of games that fall into this in-between category. This game does fall more on the older side, as it does contain guns, violence, and a zombie mode. Despite the harder to use controls, it's a good challenge for him, and he absolutely loves it. I would recommend this game for kids around this age who are mature enough to handle the more mature/teenage themes that are featured, OR recommend this game for kids who reach this maturity level at an older age, probably around 12 or 13. The reason I give this game an overall 4 star is because the controls are harder, the graphics a little pixely (though this is expected from a small portable game system) and the themes included making it a bit touchy as to which age group this should be targeted towards. Otherwise, fun level is definitely a 5. ... show more

  • My kids love it
Platform For Display: Nintendo DS Edition: Standard
Buying this rated T game for the Nintendo DS was my concession to my 8- and 10- yr old boys who play Call of Duty Black Ops at their friends' houses on the Xbox, which I understand is a rated M game. They play their new DS game all the time and have told me they love it. I am content that at least the level of violence is decreased to a rated T level for this game, and they are happy that at least they get to play Black Ops. ... show more

I bought this game from bowtie and it got to my house pretty quick. But once i opened it and played it i soon realized that it was some sort of pirated version and I was unable to climb ladders so i could not finish the training mission or even the first level. I returned the game to bowtie and I had my money back with in 2 days. So i guess they did a satisfactory job. If they wanted to do an exceptional job they would screen their games better before they sell them to people online. ... show more

Platform For Display: Nintendo DS Edition: Standard
An FPS on a handheld is rare, but Nintendo did it's best to keep it going. BO is one fine example. PROS: Tight controls and good hit detection A whole slew of modes (story, zombie, challenges, arcade) Creative puzzles and action elements Disclaimer: This feels like a game on NDS. It will not feel like anything close to a PC FPS. It doesn't even tell a story that fits into the BO universe. Instead, it is a solid army shooter for kids who want to go down corridors and blast Russians. ... show more
