    • Can't Beat This Deal!
I'm writing this review on my new Nimo laptop. At this point, I'm ecstatic. We'll see how it holds up over time. There really isn't anything not to like about this transaction thus far. The packaging was typical for laptops I've received from other vendors and item arrived the day after I ordered it. A definite plus! The package included the laptop, a multifunction charger with a chord of satisfactory length, a welcome card and what they call a User Manual. Calling the minimal written documentation a "User Manual" is a bit of a stretch. The diagram of the ports and other aspects of the machine was helpful, as was the list of function keys and what they do. The information on the battery and charging didn't hurt either, but that was about it for useful information. To be honest, I'm just nitpicking because so far this is a terrific purchase and we'll likely get the rose gold option for my beloved. As for the machine itself, it's thin, light and looks good. I love the number and diversity of ports. Multiple USBs, both 3.0 and C, HDMI, as well as a micro SD slot. I do wish it had a standard SD card port, but that's a bit of nitpicking. I haven't done any video or audio editing and that will be the real test of the processing speed, but so far, the machine is responsive and living up to the advertised specs. It took longer for the machine to boot up the 1st time and to add my printer, but I'll edit this review if I find it's moving slower than expected. I like the feel of the keyboard and to have backlighting is definitely a plus. It's a must for me after using backlit keyboards for years. It is setup a bit different than what I am used to (delete key at top instead of bottom) but that's not unusual when switching keyboards. I was also happy that even with the heavy load I put on it during setup, it didn't get hot, just a bit warm on the bottom. I actually use laptops on my lap, so hot is not a good thing! I started testing the battery at 12:05pm and at 4pm it showed 21% and 37 minutes remaining. But shortly thereafter it showed 20% and 51 minutes remaining and the battery saver came on. Shortly thereafter it said 19% with 31 minutes remaining. Given the inconsistency of those readings, I decided to plug it in at that point, which was 4 hours after I started using battery only. I did a lot of downloading and uploading (OneDrive, App downloads, etc.) in setting up the machine, so not sure if and how much that impacted the battery. I'm going to give it another test or two to see how it goes, but it appears that I might be getting between 4 and 5 hours of battery time. In the time it took me to write and post this, just about two hours, there is now 96% of battery power available. Nice! The bottom line is that this is the best equipped laptop you’re likely to find at this price point and even quite a bit higher. Under $300 is an absolute steal for a machine with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage with an SSD drive no less! All I can say is that Amazon and Nimo hit this one out of the park! If the 2-year warranty actually works, it's a grand slam! Nimo is new to me, but I like supporting small businesses that actually provide excellent customer value.     • Happy Happy Happy I bought this Laptop !
I have been shopping for a new laptop to replace my Windows 7 Laptop. This is my third Laptop and the search finally ended when I read all of the great reviews of this NIMO laptop computer. I agree with most of the reviewers and love the lightness, key velocity, and the 1 TB of storage. It is pretty quick and although I haven't used it extensively-because I'm still setting it up and learning Windows 11 Home, it's been a pleasure to use. I LOVE the backlit keys which come on when you type, so no more external lights necessary at night, and the warranty is great at 2 years. The picture is sharp, and the case is sturdy and not cheap. It is attractive in Ocean Blue. I am also proud it's assembled in the USA and I couldn't be any happier. 12-26-24 Update...after a few months of using this laptop I must report that it isn't really as fast as I would have liked. Many of it's features are superb however if you need a speedy laptop-this one may not be adequate for your needs. Otherwise I am very happy with this computer. ... show more

    • Nice enough, but short battery life
Nice enough little machine, but if you need a laptop that can go a long time on battery alone, this one is not for you. Overnight, in sleep mode, the battery goes from full to empty. The fingerprint reader is pretty nice, even if it is balky at times.

    • I was hopeful at first, but dissapointed again - But then They Worked it Out! From 3.5 to 5 Stars
(scroll down to see my updates) This was my fifth or 6th PC purchase in the past two weeks. I've had to return the others due to shortcomings of some sort. This one had an invalid Windows product key which could not be used to activate Windows 11 Home. This Nimo 15.6 FHD Student Laptop, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Pentium Quad-Core N100 looked to be pre-used or returned, though it was advertised as new. The box of this PC looked like it had been opened before; it had a piece of paper taped to it, and some ink pen writing on the side of the box. Now after setting it up, Windows error saying Windows 11 Home cannot be activated since the product key was already used on another device. I do like the feel of the machine and the keyboard quality. The typing is quiet and gentle but "solid". The screen is relatively large and the color quality is good. That said, I think is it a little underpowered for my needs, and it seems a little laggy when launching web pages. Running MS Office and my mindmapping software seem to work fine. For the price of around $350, I'd say it's a very good value, generally speaking. Amazon product support gave me a link to contact the seller, which I did 6/13/2024. They provided yet another invalid product key. So, I am returning it, and will probably go with something a little more powerful. - - - 09-28-2024 Update - - - More good news. Usually I ignore calls on weekends from unknown numbers. In this case I answered and was greeted by a Support person from Nimo asking how the PC was doing. I handed the phone to my wife, who has been using it. In about two minutes she explained there was a charging issue, and received news that a new USB charger and cable were being sent. Otherwise, the machine has beening doing just fine. It is so refreshing to have this rare case of a seller actually concerned and practicing customer service! - - - 07/08/2024 Update - - - Their support team kept up the email efforts while I was shopping for other computers. I think they provided a total of 5 product keys, with the 4th being the one that finally worked. Even then, I planned to return the PC to Amazon because I discovered it was under-powered for my office needs. However, I let my wife use it and she found it to meet her intermittant needs, and said for me to keep it for our college-aged kids to use. So, we have it still, and they are liking it. ------ earlier ------------- 06/17/2024 Update: Nimo support sent me a third product key to try. No go. Windows still saying "already used". They also called me on the phone. Too bad they can't this resolved. But I am encouraged that they are working at it. ... show more
