  • very nice
Getting the cons out of the way first - some of the technic beams, pins and crosses fit looser or tighter than others but overall could work around it by checking the clutch of the other pieces. Only ones I could not work around were in page 101 and 176 of the instruction book, the tiny black wrench part into technic pin fit was very loose and kept falling out, will need to glue it on my end to hold it in place but for now I think I can live with those parts unattached and set aside for now. I'd just like to suggest improving the technic clutch accuracy a little bit more. The vast majority of the build was excellent. No missing parts and the pieces were of overall high quality, everything came together quite nicely for the most part. The instructions and bags of parts were numbered and organized neatly making the pieces very easy to find and saving good time in the process. Very happy overall with the result, finished build of the Nismo GTR looks very nice. ... show more

  • Exceeded my expectations
My favorite Technic build to date. This set was very technical and took around 22 hours to complete but was worth it. Beautiful design that does a great job of replicating the GTR. This is a very big set. Near the size and complexity to the LEGO Bugatti. It dwarfs the LEGO Porsche RSR’s size and weight with more than twice the parts count ... show more

  • Barely adequate for the price
Disappointed by this set. It is a barely a 3 star. The quality of connecting pegs was horrendous. Most were way too tight, often requiring pliers to pull out or small mallet to put into place. This alone made the building experience unenjoyable. Few pieces were missing. Fit was subpar on many parts (e.g., the wheel wells, gears skip, etc.) and I had to glue several parts into place to prevent them from constantly falling out. This is not my first kit - I've done about a dozen and this kit is my third from this seller. This one, by far, is the worst one I've completed. The only reason why I'm giving it 3, not 2, stars is because the finished product does look pretty good. Overall, do not recommend. ... show more

  • I want to give it 3.5 stars
So I was really between 3 and 4 stars. I went down to 3 instead of up to 4 because of some of the difficulty I had with this. First, I am a big fan of lego, and as most people know, it can get pretty expensive, and a lot of these other brands have different builds that lego doesnt. It's been tough to find a non lego brand building brick that feels and looks pretty good quality (I had my fair share of weird chunky plastics that don't fit with each other and decals that seem pretty transparent). Pros: -Quality wise, these pieces definitely seem to hold up, and could probably fit well with lego. Not that it'll really matter since I only plan to use these parts for this specific build, or others of this brand, if I get more. -Plenty of extra pieces. I have maybe 100ish extra connecting pieces. -Most pieces give a satisfying click sound when put together. I'm not sure about others, but when I hear that click, I know it's because those parts are fitting how they should, and they are a good match in size (tolerance). Cons: -Quality control on parts are pretty low. A lot of the connectors still had some plastic stuck on the ends, so you need to use some hard material to push it all the way in, or a callused finger. -Some directions are a bit difficult to decipher. They don't show good angles or just have it connected and you literally just guess until it looks right. IMPORTANT CON -Some directions make absolutely no sense. If you get this specific set ATTACH THE DOORS RIGHT AWAY. For whatever reason, the designer, while very creative, is an absolute idiot. If you follow the directions, you make the 2 doors at complete separate times, like ~80ish steps apart. The doors also have rubber bands on them (not sure why since there are gears set to open and close them). This is why it was the most annoying part. the rubber bands pull the door hinge shut, so you can't lock the axle through the slot without sitting there trying to fit you finger in a tiny gap that you can't see. If you hold the door open, the axle is guaranteed to not poke through the hole allowing you to place the holder on the axle to keep the door attached. There are also a few axle that are meant to keep some of the bricks in line, but they go through holes, not axle slots. So there's nothing holding them in place, and will fall out multiple times. If I had known about that last issue before, I don't think I would have had any problems really. It is just extremely poor planning in the design which is just a shame because this is a nice build in the end. It looks good enough, with high enough quality parts to keep this item has relevant in an off brand lego enthusiasts set. Just scroll through the directions first to see if you should do some steps out of order, and see if you can place anything differently to get a better structure. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
Really amazing and challenging set with one negative: Our set was missing quite a few parts. It seemed like every bag had either a strange quality issue (one of the taillights was oval instead of circular and quite a cew of the same part were missing as well as a few parts that werw both of the same kind instead of a left and right side. We requested an exchange and the new set was perfect. Really amazed by how this Nissan was designed. ... show more

  • Good enough but, many issues.
Mine is about 80% done, so far no missing parts. Some parts like common connector pieces are found in separate bags and not the numbered bags that the instruction manual asks for, so dig around if you can't find something. Maybe roughly 5% of the parts don't fit properly enough to the point of needing gluing to be sturdy. I don't know what the best glue for this is, but I am using: Gorilla Micro Precise Super Glue. Seems to work very well dries fast, and the bottle allows you to easily use small amounts. 2 out of 3 steering wheel components won't fit no matter how hard you press because the sizes of the connectors are completely off. It's fine once I glued it. Numerous other issues of things being off by a bit, but nothing big enough to spoil the project so far. I could of sworn the instructions are completely wrong in 3-4 places, but was able to find easy workarounds to get things to work. The box it came in looked all scratched up and the bottom seemed to have sticky gunk all over it like a sticker was peeled off from the outside. I easily fixed this by cleaning it off with rubbing alcohol. Overall still pleased because it's still fun and more complicated than official lego cars while costing less. If I had missing parts though that might stack it to where it wasn't worth it. Edit: I've completed building it, no missing pieces, many extra connector spare pieces left over, and two spare rubber bands. One front wheel connector is a bit off and causes one wheel to fall off if I try to 'drive' it by pushing the car. ... show more
