Dean Markley strings have great tone and feel. I just wish they were a bit longer to permit string through body, but that is a minor consideration. What counts is that they make my basses sound fantastic.

Upon completion of replacing my strings i noticed a slight volume drop, however i love the growl these strings deliver. Very bright and punchy with a smooth feel. I believe for the price they are a great strings.. Would buy again..

    • THE WORST BASS STRING DESIGN EVER !

There are little or no winding's on the ends of these strings. They get to a point where they're just steel strands that will not grab on to a tuning peg. At least on the set I have. No matter how you put these on but the time you get to the "D" and "G' strings these just slip around the peg. Now I'm out the money and have strings that don't work and have to buy a new set of what I know will. ;Absolutely worthless set to me. ... show more

Overall, good bass strings. Very low tension with good sustain. However the D string caused persistent buzzing seemingly on all frets which I’ve never experienced with other nickel round wound brands. I replaced it with a slightly larger string and the buzz disappeared. Normally I use 45-65-80-100 and these are 40-60-80-100. ... show more
