Completely flushed and material obviously not the greatest, but do to limited cage options for my camera it will do. One thing to note is that the cage and top handle kind of have a almost grease feel to it could be cause it’s brand new, but not sure probably from after it’s cut. I also added the NICEYRIG Wooden Handle Grip with Rosette Mount right handed and the NICEYRIG NATO Quick Release Wooden Handle. ... show more

    • Bottom plane part of cage bent within few weeks of using it- used with sony a9 and 35mm 1.8 lens
I really did not want to pay full price for the brand name – something around $150, because I truly believe it generics can be just as good.Also based on seven other good reviews for this case, I thought it would be fine. For the first few weeks everything seem fine, at least doing the light usage. I did notice something seem to move while I was shooting videos, although it was difficult to tell right away, what or where it was "moving", because it was so suttle. Now going on my fourth week, I realize it's the bottom of the case- it appears to be straight but the bottom plane is bent, and so, whenever I put my camera down, it will wobble. I still can't figure out on which side of the bottom plane it is, I just know when placed on flat surface, not al four corners lay flat hitting the floor entirely. I do not know if this was a design flaw to begin with, or if the case sort of bent with usage. I have sony a9 and usually use 35mm 1.8 prime lense when using this case, as I need to keep it light. I am very disappointed that I have to put it all back and return it, and have to buy me a new case for my a9. I am glad however, I found out the weakness /flaw now vs. say if i was shooting an important video, it would have been horrible to find the tilt/unevenness. I never owned the Smallrig cage so i don't know how the construction quality is different from this one but I sure hope it's not as uneven as the one I experienced. I haven't rated the seller for bad rating because his customer service may not be so bad, and this may be a one off anomaly- i shall come back and update my review after my return refund experience. ... show more
