I bought this set for my husbands birthday and its worth the money. Its easy to assemble and seems sturdy so hopefully he'll be able to use it for a while. However, I needed to purchase heavier plates as apparently 22kg isn't enough for him (eye roll). So I messaged Nice Choice directly and received an email back the following morning. They told me their price list and even gave me a deal for separate plates (not the set). The communication was fast, easy, and flexible so THANK YOU for this. Customer service like this is hard to find so I truly appreciate a local product (California) and a great customer service department. Thank you Rachel for all your help! Read the reviews, not the glowing description from the product catalog to find out what these are really like Yellow Plastic padding, looks cool and adds some protection but it’s plastic so doesn’t really prevent from rolling, and you can’t drop the weights Using the fasteners the way shown in the photo works fine otherwise the weights just didn’t stay in place when used the other way round and kept getting loose. It takes some time to switch out the weights but I guess that’s expected with screw style fasteners They don’t seem to have option to purchase weights separately if you run out of combinations and want to level up, so make sure to purchase 66lb or higher if you want to ramp up quickly. In the 66lb, you can go upto 35lb on one dumbbell. Also when they advertise 66lb it may include the weight from the dumbbell handles too since the weights themselves add up to ~64lb. If you have sweaty hands, the dumbbells have a plastic grip and are slippery and don’t provide a good grip In summary, these are decent considering other over priced options, but you get what you pay for. These can really be stellar product with good clamps and better padding on the weights and the dumbbell grip. ... show more

i just got into weight lifting and decided on this set. very happy that i did. its super beginner friendly and takes a quick min going from barbell to dumbbell and vice versa. the only thing i'm not a huge fan of are the "clips" that come with. they're made of plastic and seem like they'd break easy. so far they haven't but i also rarely use them because i bought some metal clips at the store and they fit just fine. I did have an issue with the barbell cracking but the seller was very responsive and sent me a replacement within a few days. ... show more

Easy to change out the weights and has been very durable. It is easy to grip and can be used in so many different ways which I love the most! Definitely worth the value if you’re wanting to build muscle fast.

The pieces don’t fit well when changing from a barbell to a dumbbell. Making the switch is a work out on its own. I also receive up to 66lbs when I ordered up to 88 lbs which was a bummer but they helped me with that. 3 stars for customer service and they’re still cute.

Great set to make home workouts more challenging; I use them as dumbbells, barbell, and free plates. Very easy to incorporate into Youtube workout videos to add intensity if you're looking to add variety from bodyweight exercises. The screws go all the way in, so it'll take some time to adjust the weights once they're on (a few minutes?). A little bulky, but well-balanced. They are made out of plastic, so be careful not to drop them -- they might fracture if you drop it at an odd angle. The bright side is that when I hold the bar, it doesn't chafe my palms. A tad expensive considering the material, but they work fine (especially with no gym access during pandemic times). One of the barbell bars were chipped at the end, but the customer service was incredible; I emailed and they helped me out right away! Definitely happy with the customer service. I'm interested to see how long they'll last, since they're plastic. Will update if I encounter any issues over the next few months with these, but so far, so good! ... show more
