I saw this and had to order the cat queen because it was simply too cute. I ironed the canvas before starting and it did help with the severity of the creases. However, the canvas does not lay completely flat despite the ironing. I only ironed one side, though, since I was afraid to iron the painting side incase the lines disappeared. I had a fun time completing the painting and it was fairly easy to fill in all the numbers. The included paper guide really helped because sometimes I would cover a number while painting an adjoining area and had to check the paper. There was plenty of paint to complete the project and more than enough paint brushes; I really only used about three. The Queen, in person, uses more of a beige paint where in the picture she looks white. Not a big deal because after a while you can't even tell the difference. I did ended up changing the background because I didn't really like the all black; I opted for more purple. Also changed the darker areas in the flower crown so they would stand out more against the dark background. Not sure that I could mount/stretch this on a wood frame so I'll probably just throw it in a regular frame. ... show more

3.5 stars. As beautiful as the finished product is, not all of the colors are as depicted in the photos. For instance, what looks blue in the photo is actually purple in person. Her shoulder/arm on the left is starkly different from the photo, as is the blend of colors on her neck. The canvas is shipped folded instead of rolled, so there are deep creases unless you iron it as instructed. The rest of my complaints are possibly skill issues, like using 3-4 coats of paint (dried between each coat) and still being able to see some of the numbers. Overall, I’m ok with the end result and would still purchase the product even knowing how it’ll turn out. I never ran out of paint (only got close with 2 of the colors), and the paint brushes were fine. ... show more

Definitely the most detailed, delicate, fine brush detail I’ve ever used in a paint by number, but it makes it look amazing. It’s also so quirky and goofy that I get a kick every time I look at it. I’m buying every one.

The end result is very cute. The canvas and numbering are easy to use, but be warned it is very detailed numbering. I could not get the crease out I tried ironing and steaming. I went and bought an inexpensive set of paint brushes and would highly recommend. It made the process much easier. It’s a good idea to cover your work surface. Plenty of paint, and then some. The little pans snapped shut nicely to keep the paint moist. Brushes were much better quality (and more numerous) than the typical set. Well coded, with no un-numbered areas. And what a fun design! Plan to buy another. Hope they’ll do more humorous takes on classic paintings. PS: This was my first time ironing a folded canvas. Not as easy as I’d hoped; I did stretch out a couple of places. No worries. PPS: Most economical way I know to get a paint-by-numbers canvas onto a frame is often to purchase locally a set of the most basic blank canvases already mounted. I have done a number of paint by number kits. I am enjoying this one in particular and plan on buying a different one in the series Great quality in the canvas and the paint. I think I will next try to paint the Napoleon cat !
