Initially it to some time before I was able to set it up, but once I decided it was no fuss. What I like: easy to assemble, adequate equipment for the task, works even in the early morning hours 02:30am. Haven’t been up later in the mornings to validate more. No issues in performance still. Working consistently for over a month. What I don’t like: During my assembly of the solar panel I tried adjusting before loosing the locking knob and I was amazed of how easily the panel separated from the base. Fortunately that wasn’t a setback because it was reattached with silicone and hasn’t been a problem. The panel and base maybe the weakest part of the product. Conclusion: a reliable product up to now. Does what’s intended for. As this is summer I shall see how it goes for winter. Pump noise level adequate and air volume good, money value worthwhile. ... show more

I got this to replace a similar solar bubbler that gave up the ghost after a couple years of year around all season use and I have not been disappointed! My previous bubbler would work for about 6-8 hours each day with a bit less time in the cold, dark winter months. I was fine with that because it was just enough for my little pond. This one has even more power and working time! The solar panel is a little bigger and is very nice quality. It's easy to place with either a stake in the ground (how I use it) or you can mount it via two screws. The pump units itself is really nice quality. It has a power button and another one to cycle through the various modes. It comes with instructions, but it's really easy to figure out and use. So far mine has been outside in at least one good rain storm and it is still bubbling away. And it lasts like all day and night! Overall, really happy with this new bubbler. It's so much easier than using a plug in version and it's free power! Love it! ... show more

When it's charging in the sun this air pump puts out a lot of power. It comes with everything you need for 2 air stones, and is very quiet. It was extremely easy to set up, cut the hose into 3 pieces attach one to the pump, then the splitter. Then the other 2 hoses go from the splitter to the air stones. Then just set the solar panel up where it'll get plenty of sun. It comes with different settings depending on what you need. Isn't doing a well today as it's very gloomy and it was yesterday too, but on sunny days it works well into the night. Great value, works great for what I needed. ... show more

    • Very Weak on Intermittent Setting

I have several pumps similar to this that I have been using all summer. I like to use them on the intermittent mode to save battery - they will typically run all night until morning after a sunny day. This one does the same - it charges well and will run all night. On the high setting, this pump put out a lot of air, similar to my other pumps. However, on the intermittent setting it pumps very little air. I am not sure if this one is defective, or it that's just the way it is designed. It is a 3.5 amp pump, and I have another 3.5 amp pump that looks identical, but performs better on the intermittent setting. Even a 2.5 amp pump that I have performs better. Overall, it is OK, but the other brands that I have outperform this one, especially on the intermittent setting. ... show more

Since I have outdoor aquariums that's far away from outlets, I don't have to deal with extension cords at all. This was basically an instant aerator and life saver when it came to dealing with fish that couldn't get oxygen in the pond or fish tank. It was basically mount the solar panel, elevate the pump, and drop the air stones in the water. It was that simple. Once you've turned on the switch, it was maintenance free. It's well worth it when you need something that simple to operate and simple without using any extension cords that can get in the way of cutting grass or getting wet. It's well worth it to get rid of headaches like those. ... show more
