The kit had many colors of thread spools and matching bobbins. The attachments looked good but tiny for big old hands like mine. The threader seems fineor thin. But I'm not a sewperson. The thread is tiny and my eyes old. I had a little trouble finding the ends or starting point. But I've used up two spools! The bobbins are metal. Having loaded bobbins was a real blessing . MY PERSPECTIVE/SKILL LEVEL: Beginner. I had Home Ec back in high school in the early 90s but me and the sewing machine have not hung out very much ever since. VOLUME OF THREAD: If you need a specific color, you're better off just getting that color. I was doing a lot of beginner projects with stretchy cloth, meaning I'm doing a zigzag stitch and using a bit more thread than normal (I suspect). I def was running through the thread a little bit fast. That said, it is a lot of thread variety. They do give you multiple rolls of white and black. COLORS: There is truly a rainbow and for the most part, the bobbin color thread matches the other thread. BUT... there are a few places where the bobbins are not a perfect match. I think there is an intention that you would use the bobbins and then for a few of the colors where the match isn't exact then you'd use the empty bobbin to do it the traditional old school way. I'm lazy, so I just paired it up with a different bobbin. Hey... I told you I'm a beginner....! I took off half a star for this thread color mis-match though. QUALITY OF THREAD: I know for a fact from my mom, way back when she first tried to teach me, that thread can have great quality and you can tell. I can actually tell that this is kind of a mid to lower level quality. It has to do with the way it sometimes has a few microscopic fluffs that come off of it. That was fine for my project. But if you are someone who gets annoyed by that, then you likely need to level up to a different type of thread. I don't think it will flat out break on you for no reason. This is where I took off like 1/2 a star. GOOD FOR BEGINNERS: Yes! I mean, come on. I got way too much to learn to also figure out how to properly bobbin. One day I hope to be like those ladies on youtube that are lightening fast on the sewing machine. This is nice though. I would say that the way the thread is wound can be a little bit funky. I mean they really wanted to make sure that that thread didn't get loose on you. Just make sure it's unwinding properly as you start to sew. Obviously if it's not it will shake loose and you'll have to rethread. FINAL WORDS: While there isn't a proper case or anything, I do like that plastic thing with the plastic covering on top. I'm a bit OCD, so I like that it keeps it all clean. ... show more

Funny, but in all serious-ness this is great too have in an emergency fix job when out and about. hole in shirt tear the seat of your slacks and have one of these babys in the glove compartment.....you will see what i mean. or get married to someone who can use one of these and buy for them.

Great color variety and quantity, however the thread is somewhat fuzzy and breaks easily in my Brother CS5000 machine. Bobbins fit and function fine, and most colors match between bobbins and spools.

    • Complete junk and total waste of money
Save your money this thread is trash. I read the reviews but decided to try for the low price. I got exactly what I paid for: GARBAGE. Just a few, the thread is nearly impossible to find the starting point. If you can get it started there is like glue residue which causes massive jam ups. You will spend more time fixing the machine than anything. You can pull the thread not even very hard and it breaks. Between jamming and breaking you will REGRET not heeding my warning. There is other stuff but I've wasted enough time on this trash thread. I now use Coates and Clark thread I get at Walmart. I rarely write reviews but this time I felt compelled because it's so bad. ... show more
