My wife and love to go hiking, and of course we find ourselves in some challenging spots and have to scramble up some steep rocky terrain. This normally isn't a problem but my wife is scared of heights. That's what this rope is for. Now then let me say we are not using it for actual climbing. Usually I scramble up to the top. I'll have her set up in a hasty seat with a figure 8 and I'll anchor the line to myself and pull slack as she climbs up. Having this as a guideline gives her some extra confidence and lets us get back on the trail. The rope is good material, rated for around 1500 #, 6mm diameter. Super lightweight and easy to carry all day in the pack. Nice bright orange color and will definitely see some serious use this spring on our next vacation. ... show more

I found the NewDoar 6mm High Strengte Cord Rope to be a great light weight rope that I can use for low risk climbing. The thinner rope reduces the weight which reduces the weight of my pack when backpacking. I look forward to using this rope on my next advendure.

Seems well made and strong but very stiff so not comfortable for tying knots.
