I just stayed with the black and white theme of the console and when installed this isn't even noticeable unless you are looking for it. Computers and game consoles gather all kinds of dust out of nowhere. This dust shield installs easily. I regularly clean the console so I take off the screens to clean them and the console internals. The two sided tape is going to need replaced one of these cleaning cycles. I think I would prefer it to extend down and clip onto something on the bottom part of the console so it didn't require an adhesive. But how it is does work well. ... show more

This product is very simple. It is meant to effectively protect from and prevent pet hair, debris, and excessive dust from entering the cooling grilles of your PlayStation 5 console. You get two dust covers in the kit. As an added bonus, you also receive two sets of silicone port plugs. You receive a white set, and a black set. These plugs allow you to seal any electronic opening that you are currently not using, to prevent entry of foreign debris much like the mesh cover itself. These plugs are a nice addition. Getting back to the mesh, I am very surprised at how perfectly the manufacturer was able to cut and fit this mesh to the very curvy center body of the PS5. For those who may not know, the PS5 receives fresh air from the front grilles of the system and expels heated air out the back grilles. The mesh does not cover the back grilles. The dust cover looks very nice and so far it is doing its job and not letting any debris through to the grilles. It was very easy to install except that the sticky strips used to attach the front of the mesh to the console can be difficult to separate from their backing. The strips are a clear adhesive jelly and seem to work quite well at keeping the cover in place. My PlayStation 5 is the optical disc version. The manufacturer states that these mesh dust covers fit both the disc version and digital version of the PS5. You provided very little tape. I had to cut it in half in order to have enough for one. I got a pair of dust covers. I have to PlayStation but I wasn’t able to use the other one.

    • This helps keep the shiny, black plastic area of the PS5 free of fingerprints and dust.

This mesh will keep the shiny, reflective area of the PS5 looking cleaner. The glossy plastic is very susceptible to fingerprints and dust. It also scratches very easily. After apply this mesh cover, your PS5 will look cleaner. The instructions wasn't that good. But basically you anchor one end of the cover mesh in the rear to the top vent holes and flip over the rest of the mesh to cover the front. On the bottom end (if your PS5 is vertically standing) you apply a double sided clear adhesive sticker to hold the bottom in place. Make sure as you're sticking the mesh down, the mesh is nice and taut. But don't be too rough as you're installing this mesh, because it's a mesh and it can scratch the shiny plastic. I try not hold the system (or touch) that area after installing this cover. And I'm very careful when I use the front ports. One of the reasons I got this was to protect the shiny plastic from getting scratches, not just cover it up. This kit comes with two mesh covers, a white one and. black one. I chose to use the black one as I wanted to look closer to the original look. It also comes with rubber dust covers for all the ports. I probably won't use the rubber dust covers for the ports as I'd probably lose them when I need to use a port. These rubber port covers will probably be useful if you plan to store away your console for a length of time. ... show more

These work exactly as intended. Family went in on a PS5 for another family member plus some accessories. I got these to go with the whole kit. They work well so far and have no complaints. The family member has a dog who sheds a lot and he is not the best a vacuuming up ALL the fur... this has killed another game console so I tried to be proactive to help prevent the death of another console. This comes in a pack of 2. It came with both clear port covers and also black port covers. The port covers nicely fit inside the Ethernet port, usb ports for the ones that are not in use. The overall mesh dust cover fit nicely on the PS5. I wish it came with more double stick tape as it only came with 2 pieces (for 2 dust covers). So I ended up using 1 piece on the front bottom of the PS5 and let the top back side of the dust cover just friction fit onto the PS5. Works. It feels like it would’ve been better had it come with 4 tape pieces though…. ... show more

I like that I get two for the price since we have two ps5. They form perfectly to the area they are protecting. One problem I had was nowhere in the product description does it say the front of the dust cover requires a sticky tape to adhere it to the console. So sticking it to the front of the face is not too bad, except only one tiny sticky tape came with two dust covers. We had to cut the sticky tape in two and hoping the adhesive holds. The plugs are nice although I think they’re unnecessary. I wish these were more like higher end covers that wrap around on both sides and snap into the holes of the console.
