I love this embroidery thread, so many color options, and I needed just another storage box. It only cost a couple dollars more to get the storage box full of thread, so I have a LOT of thread now.

I have only used them once at this time. The thread appears to be decent quality. My machine did have a little difficulty with the tension. I normally do not adjust my tension when I use different threads on my machine. However, I did have to play around with the tension to get my project to come correctly. The case is a nice size. The little storage opening in lid is very handy for pens, chalk, etc. Plenty of pretty colors to take if traveling and want to take an assortment along. Would be better if one of the multiple white and black were the bobbin white and black thread. Also, a secondary snap-on lid would be convenient for breaking apart the tiers to store the threads in the sewing machines travel cases. ... show more

Honestly, I think this thread works as well as any of the higher end threads I use (Madeira, Isacord, Aurifil). It works well in my machine (BL Meridian) using a 60 or 90 weight bobbin. For the cost, it is a good value. Colors are vibrant. The spool does not have a thread minder so you do need the thread wraps or thread nets to prevent the thread from unwinding. The seller enclosed thread wraps that are nice. Yes, as a reviewer pointed out, they are too long for the spools. I simply cut them down. Problem solved. It’s difficult to review a thread because there are so many variables that effect thread. For example, do you have the right needle for your project and type of thread. I use a #11 embroidery needle for most projects and switch needles depending on stitch count, type of fabrics. I do NOT use a needle meant for a sewing machine. I change needles after approximately 5-6 hours of use or depending on the design stitch count. I would recommend this thread. The seller is honest, product comes quickly. I ordered this set after testing the 40 spool set. Know your machine, use an embroidery needle needed for fabric. Often it isn’t always the thread that is the issue. ... show more

I'm a hobbyist and just use my machine for personal use. This is a great set for me with good color varieties. I've seen reviews regarding the cases not latching together, however, if you line up the stacking cases correctly there is no problem with latching them or with them staying latched. I really enjoyed this new purchase of New Brothread. I have been using their embroidery thread for quite awhile and have never had any problems with it. The plastic organization boxes that are included in this purchase are wonderful and just what I needed. The value of 80 spools and 4 organizational boxes is amazing! Plus they included some thread nets, thread snips, and a marker. The colors are different from my previous purchases and compliments them wonderfully. This particular project of a cute pun design on a towel for my father, who is a vegetarian with a great sense of humor, came from Julia's Needle Designs. I only used colors from this purchase of New Brothread 80 spools. The colors are varied enough that it would work for any embroidery project that you have. I used tear away stabilizer on the bottom and water soluble stabilizer on the top. I did not have any breakage or any problem at all. My Janome 500 E loves New Brothread and so do I! I look forward to trying their stabilizers and am sure that I will enjoy them as much as I enjoy the thread. ... show more
