    • Extremely impressed with the A6pf. wireless carplay is very responsive and reliable so far.
I installed this in a 2001 Sequoia with the JBL system and an added subwoofer. I have a 2021 Corolla with built-in wired carplay, so my opinions with the carplay experience are with that context. Wireless carplay is smoother than the wired carplay in my other car, and hasn't disconnected once. it pairs with my iphone 14 relatively quickly. The native android performance is decent, not quite the level of a high end android but not walmart level tablet either. It runs google maps well enough, though I doubt I'll use it much. native google maps can even float over the carplay interface if you really want to do that, but I won't be. The Audio configurations are fantastic. It has a 36 band graphic EQ, where each filter has adjustable gain and Q, but fixed center frequency. It has time alignment, 20-250hz high pass and 3k-20k low pass on the doors. would have liked to see the high pass capable of going up to 5k or so, so you could active crossover a set of components if you just ran stereo. It has adjustable subwoofer level and low pass on the subwoofer, up to 250hz. The Screen is surprisingly good. It is quite bright, although more reflective than I'd like. I do wish they had managed to cram a volume knob on there somewhere. I found somebody on youtube who added a volume knob to their atoto using an arduino to impersonate steering wheel controls, and roughly followed how they did it, though I rewrote the code to support a lower spec microcontroller. The mounting bracket doesn't quite match up with my Sequoia's mounting bracket, so I had to drill some holes larger in my mounting bracket, and also had to drill out my vehicle's factory bracket to clear a screw that holds the atoto bracket to the radio. The unit has an external GPS antenna, but doesn't seem to provide it's GPS location to the iphone. Technically if a device has a GPS, it is supposed to provide the GPS data to the iphone for scenarios where the phone doesn't have a good link. It would be a nice feature, and seems like something Atoto could add in the future. I've discussed this with Atoto and they seem to be considering it I do wish they had included line level outputs, but the included line level converters work well enough, albeit requiring a bit of tuning to get the level to match up well with the sensitivity with any stock system. Really these are pretty minor complaints . The interface is absolutely fantastic, carplay performance is fantastic, the Audio tuning options are amazing, a 36 band eq with variable Q and time alignment from a $200 stereo? That's high end DSP level tuning right there. This design has a lot to love, and only a few small gripes. some of them I knew quite well when I ordered it, but The 36 band EQ is what made me decide to go with the a6, as I could tune out any weirdness in my stock amplifiers and cheap aftermarket speakers. Incredibly flexible. Simple setup and run. Full of options that are not difficult or tedious to set up. Linux version limits relocation of icons. The wireless car play just simply works! If I could give it a 10 star I would. Atoto car stereos are way more better than the bigger name brands no doubt! They include so much other stuff when you buy a stereo such as screen protectors, line out converters, and so much more included for free! Even the way they package their products are far more superior than the rest! The best thing is the price and quality of the system.
