Description

The nickel TLM 103 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone from Neumann is a cardioid, directional microphone that features low self-noise and high sound pressure level transmission. The capsule, derived from that used in the Neumann U 87, has a cardioid pattern, is acoustically well-balanced and provides great attenuation of signals from the rear. Plus an Auray SSM-NMN Suspension Shockmount is designed to provide shock isolation for select Neumann microphones commonly used for broadcast and voiceover applications. • AMAZING!!
I purchased this mic for my home studio. It’s mounted on a boom stand (upside down) inside my sound booth and used only for voice-over work. I also own a Neumann U87 Ai. I have recorded the same voice-over script with both mics numerous times and they sound almost identical. If anything, the 103 gets the nod most of the time. It’s my go to mic for sure. • GREAT SOUND – plenty power
I love the 48a of phantom power ... makes this SO much louder and clearer than the Shure 7b – without the need for Cloudlifter. To narrate my podcast I put the shockmount inside a reflection filter, on a mic stand, and then jerry-rigged foam around the whole thing to seal it in. I just put my mouth close to the pop filter. The mic cable is hooked up to my Zoom h5, acting as an audio interface, using the bus power from my Mac. The whole setup sounds super pro, right from my desk. check out my podcast Working Sunday (new episodes – number 18 or higher, not older ones...) and you'll see ... • Happy Customer
The Aurary shockmount arrived broken, clearly a cheaply made product but I wasnt planning on using it anyway. The microphone itself is absolutely amazing and Amazon refunded me for the broken shock mount. Happy customer

  • The cream of the crop
This mic has a reputation for its warmth and suitability for vocals. There is a reason for that reputation. It is one of the great (reasonably affordable) mics of our time.
