The Birdfy feeder has been amazingly fun to watch so far. We had tried setting up a camera in our yard to capture birds at the feeders but it was never quite close enough or in focus to do the job. This camera gets up close and personal with your backyard bird friends. The pics are very detailed and clear. I love watching the video clips to hear the songs and chatter of our various backyard visitors. Although sadly the videos are only ten seconds long and I couldn't figure out a way to adjust their length. But it does start up new clips right away so may see multiple clips of the same bird visit. I did end up catching a few birds on video that I hardly ever see in our yard such as a blue bird and a red winged blackbird which was a nice surprise. Usually we have very frequent visits at the feeders at our house so the battery did drain quickly. I also had to turn off alerts from the app on my phone because they were almost constant and draining my phone battery quickly. Because of the quick better drain on the Birdfy itself, if you have many bird visitors, I highly recommend this model with the solar panel otherwise taking down the feeder weekly to charge can be inconvenient. I also tried the free trial of the AI to identify birds. Typically the AI eventually got the bird correct but some of the initial alerts from the app were hilariously incorrect. No way do we have wild cockatoos in the midwest US! I think the AI feature has potential but needs some adjusting especially for likely birds at your location. The initial setup for the feeder was super simple overall and it attached securely to a post where we already had feeders with a baffle to deter squirrels and raccoons. The feeder and camera seems pretty sturdy and well built although I do have some concerns about the perch as it seems a bit on the flimsy side. Before installation outside, I did have some difficulty charging the camera but I think I was using the incorrect cable. I never figured out exactly what the precise issue was. But the camera has been charging outdoors with the solar panel just fine. It is also easy to adjust the solar panel separate from the feeder to get a good sun angle. Overall I do recommend the feeder for a fun way to get an up close view of your backyard birds. I think it would be a great gift for someone who may not be able to frequently see and hear the birds outdoors. ... show more

Received my Birdfy Pro almost a week ago, charged it, and set it up immediately. It was very easy to put together with good instructions. I had a regular birdfeeder before and enjoyed the occasional bird coming by, but WOW!!! Birdfy recorded so many birds that I had no idea we had! The Northern Cardinal comes in the morning, afternoon, and around dusk. The Black Capped Chickadees flitter on so quickly I never even knew they were stopping to feed! I have a male and female Cowbird couple as well (who knew!). Then came the Starlings and the Grackle... and the Squirrels... (the Birdfy app is excellent at identifying the birds) The included Squirrel Baffle is too small to be much good, but it was a nice "freebie" to get started. I'll buy a better one later. I haven't tried the accessory feeders yet, as I already have a Suet Feeder, but I am going to try the Fruit Feeder ("Fork") soon. I always have old fruit around. This is easy to use and view on my phone and can double as a security cam! It is fairly heavy though, and I will likely need a new feeder pole to mount it on. The pole mounting brackets were simple to use, but I have a lightweight pole, and the weight of the feeder makes it lean a bit. It will be worth it to invest in a better pole. I also did not add the solar panel yet; waiting until I get a sturdier pole. The battery on the Birdfy seems to keep a charge pretty well. The Birdfy app is easy to download and connect, and I was even able to share my feed with my mother across the country. That did take some figuring out, but not too bad. I absolutely love that the Birdfy also shows you stills from the videos, so I don't have to try to frame capture a still shot. The videos and stills are so simple to save to my phone and then upload to Facebook (or share directly to FB). I am very happy with the Birdfy Pro and think the squirrels need their own so they will leave food for the birds! I think it would be hilarious to get video of the squirrels eating. The Birdfy Pro IS a bit pricey, but I think it is worth it for the known brand -- Netvue -- and for the Birdfy app. ... show more
