After first couple weeks I don’t have any problems with it, range is very good, speed and it handles about 15 devices with no issues at all, it’ll take more if I wanted. App is very intuitive, easy to use and customizable, sometimes they want to sell you some addons but whatever. Definitely would recommend it ... show more

It linked right up to my modem, no glitches. I was done in 20 minutes. It wasn’t so great in my apartment, but when I moved to my townhouse it was excellent. I’m editing this because the problems were obviously due to the apartment internet and not the product.

    • The router is fine and does what it should do

Once the router is configured it works great! Netgear recommends using a Nighthawk app to set it up, that didn't work because it wouldn't connect. I downloaded the app, plug my name, email and phone in and the app couldn't connect to the router. Instead, I got a phone call from someone claiming to be the Tech Support. Needless to say, this person was useless and couldn't address the issue. I tried again next day and received another phone call. This time the person was pushy and rude, and at some point told me to "stop wasting his time" and return the router. He also claimed that someone got ahold of my password and there already 30 devises connected to the router and that's the limit. Then he offered to flash my router for additional money and when I refused and said that I'll instead consult my friend who's a network engineer, the "tech support" got mad and got offended that I didn't trust him with his "expertise". But again, the router once my buddy helped me to set it up properly, works like a charm. ... show more

Though I have no quarrel with the quality of the NETGEAR Router; it actually works great with my new fiber install, but doesn't recognize my printer. However, there is one thing that I didn't consider before buying. In my attempt to save a few dollars in buying a pre-owned item, I didn't consider that the router's configuration might still have the previous owner's information. When I attempted to log in to the router, I was prompted for the answers to two security questions which obviously the original owner had set and Amazon wouldn't have this information. I tried to reset the router to factory settings as indicated from the owner's manual that I found via an online search, but the only thing that was reset was the initial login/pwd to the router which luckily was on the router's label. When I attempted to register the router on the NETGEAR website, I received the following message "This serial number is already registered to another customer...". I contacted NETGEAR Support via email for assistance. They responded with a request for information to substantiate my purchase from Amazon and a picture of the router showing the Serial Number. I complied as requested. The response that was subsequently received read "As we reviewed your Order Confirmation, it shows that the device purchased is a used unit. Please note that the NETGEAR warranty is valid for the original purchaser only and is not transferable." I again replied that I am aware of the item being 'used' and am not concerned with the warranty; I only need to know how to be able to access the router and reset the security questions, then work with the configuration in order for it to recognize my peripheral devices--mainly my printer. The email thread contains a Support Case Number, so I am sure that the messages from me are being received by NETGEAR. Follow up emails from myself to NETGEAR Support have produced no responses. Easy setup with the Netgear Nighthawk app. The Nighthawk app comes with a free 30 day trial for Armor Security. I had to switch this off because it blocked my sump pump app from connecting, said “security threat “. Even when I chose to allow access, Armor would still block the signal. I was plesantly surprised when I replaced a 3-year old wi-fi router with this one. I now get full broadband speed and have about 3-times the wi-fi coverage. I had installed a wi-fi mesh extender which worked well but is now unneeded. This router has some great admin features too.
