  • Inexpensive, makes good coffee from cheap pods
Style: Machine Only Color: Red
It has a very simple job. It takes the old school Nespresso pods (that do NOT cost a buck a pod) and turns them into delicious espresso shots. Great "crema" on top. Leave the pod in and run an extra cycle through and you have a small but delicious cup of "coffee". Yes, it leaks a bit and scratches up the counter. I put a small silicone pad meant for cat food bowls underneath. Totally fixed the problem. If you run a cycle of plain hot water into your cup and then discard before you brew, your cup is preheated and the coffee stays hot longer. Do I wish the water tank were bigger? Sure. Do I wish it could make bigger cups? Sure. But since I don't want to use the newer super expensive pods, this is the best cup of instant brew coffee I can make. Worlds better than a K cup. Now that I've found a silicone mat to fix the leaking problem, I'm happy with it! ... show more

  • Love it!
Style: Machine + Aero Color: Black
I used to have one of those big Nespresso machines and the lines got all clogged. This small little thing is perfect and makes coffee drinks just the same as the big, expensive one did. Bought one for my daughter in college and she saving a lot of money on coffee these days!!

  • Great value, no fuss customization, plentiful options (some that make me 'see' time).
Style: Machine + Aero Color: Red
The media could not be loaded. For reference, my household-adjacent has both a Vertuo (purchased as a gift for my partner around the holidays) as well as the Essenza Mini (purchased as a gift for myself a few months later), and for the sake of clarity - I'll highlight some key points between the two that could help inform a decision. I picked up my Essenza Mini + Frother from Amazon Warehouse. It was advertised as "very good" condition with the corresponding pricing due to a cosmetic imperfection, but upon inspection, I really couldn't find anything wrong with it. I see that as a definite win. Setup was fantastically easy, and I'd note that the instruction to "press three times" for the initial flush on the the Essenza Mini refers to pushing the button once letting the machine complete the cycle, and then follow the procedure two more times. [On the Vertuo, you can press the button in quick succession.] The total time between unpacking the machine to getting it set up was less than 5 minutes. I'm fascinated by the technology behind the Vertuo, i.e., it has pre-programmed and also further customizable volume settings depending on the code of the pod being inserted. However, my go-to for just a plain cup of coffee has always been and will continue to be my Aeropress. A large part of that is being a creature of habit, and a smaller part of that is that I'll occasionally roast my own beans. One of the key driving factors of purchasing the Essenza Mini is that it fills a very first-world gap of, "Sometimes I just want an espresso or an Americano, but I don't really want to wait and/or the effort to heat up water and prepare grounds for the Aeropress means I should just make a full cup again anyway but then I'll be up too late." Enter the beauty of two buttons on the Essenza Mini. One button dispenses a smaller volume of water. The other dispenses a larger (maybe twice?) the volume of waster. No codes on the pods to tell the machine what to do. Instead, you pick. So, if I want just a concentrated shot of espresso? Push the button that corresponds to the smaller volume. I want a little bit more volume? Push the button that corresponds to the larger volume. But here's the kicker, and it's going to sound painfully obvious: you can effectively make an Americano by pushing one button (take your pick) and allowing the cycle to finish, and then pushing the other button to just run hot water through the used pod and picking up some residual flavor/color/content. I found that pushing the larger volume button twice yields something that effectively tastes like watered down coffee, but to each their own on what they like. The variety of pods that are compatible with this series of machine is overwhelmingly greater than those that are compatible with the Vertuo line. Maybe something to do with the technology of the coding, but I'm not an expert on that. There was one that came as part of the Nespresso welcome kit that made me feel like I was seeing time, but slowed down. It also kept me up till 2am since I had it at around 6pm, so there's the trade-off. I don't think anyone truly "needs" a machine like this, but it's very nice to have. ... show more

  • Machine is great - but did not arrive with the promised complimentary Nespresso pods
Style: Machine Only Color: Black
I love how compact and easy to use this machine is. It brews my espresso really fast. Unfortunately, it did not arrive with the complimentary espresso pods that were promised in the description and on the box I received. Amazon customer service was of no help, and I have not heard from the manufacturer. Disappointing. ... show more

  • Spent pods
Style: Machine + Aero Color: Black
Still giving this a 5, but the storage for the spent pods requires a tool to pull it out and empty. Makes incredible drinks, and the milk frother is awesome.

  • Essensa Mini Espresso Machine by De'longhi - Don't do well with Non-Nespresso made pods.
Style: Machine Only Color: Red
I have had my Essenza Mini since late Aug. 2022. I think it is important for all new Nespresso machine owners to know that if you use different brands of pods for your Nespresso machine, they may cause your machine to not work properly (unlike Keurig machines which tolerate cups made by other companies). Nespresso can't help you if you are not using their pods. Just an FYI. ... show more

  • SO MUCH QUIETER than my Inissia
Style: Machine Only Color: Black
I bought this because I thought my Inissia was broken, and I heard this was the quietest Nespresso machine. While this was in transit my original machine started working again, but this machine is so much quieter that I decided to get rid of the Inissia! Truly, that thing was probably 55 decibles. I couldn't run it if someone was sleeping or have a conversation while it was running, and it was a very jarring to start your day by running a machine that was as loud as a blender. This one is maybe 50? which I know doesn't sound that much quieter but really is. The only thing that isn't as good is the small water reservoir, but I am one person who has 1-2 cups/day so it's not too much of a pain to refill it every 2-3 days. Maybe there was something wrong with my Inissia to make it so loud, but if you are looking for a Nespresso machine that you can run when someone is asleep in a room next door, this one fits the bill. ... show more
