Received the item and it did not function. Called the De Longhi customer support and they connected to my phone so they could access the camera and view the machine. They determined that it was either defective, missing parts, or was previously used. Also, the seller is NOT AN AUTHORIZED RETAILER AND AS SUCH, IT HAS NO WARRANTY!!!!! I have contacted Amazon customer service 3 times and the case is not yet resolved. On August 30, they asked for additional information, I submitted the information, I have heard nothing since then. To this day Amazon is permitting unauthorized retailers to sell products on their website without any manufacturer’s warranty, without indicating that fact anywhere. This is an excellent machine, not even considering that it is under $1K, it stands up to almost any machine as far as quality of espresso produced. This machine comes with an excellent start up guide which can be a little confusing to understand at first because it was written by Italians, lol. Hang in there!! After figuring out your dosing, grind, and temp settings, you will be enjoying FANTASTIC espresso in no time at all. Do keep in mind that when changing the grind settings, you have to change it WHILE THE GRINDER IS IN OPERATION. Failing to do this may damage the grinder. Frothing wand and hot water features work great as well, although just a little longer wait than I expected for these to achieve their goals. I was SO excited to receive this machine just to discover that it does not work; the machine does not run any water through it at all. Even though I spent a pretty penny for it and thus should not have had to do any self-troubleshooting, I still decided to do so because I was so ready to use the machine. I tried troubleshooting (without having to open the machine) to push out any possible "air bubbles". I contacted Amazon and the seller the next day I received the item to express my concern in an attempt to return it and get a refund, but the seller denied my request. I've contacted Amazon 4 times at this point to get a refund and the last rep told me she'd put in a claim basically so I can receive a return label and so that my refund would be processed. A few hours later, I received an email from the seller stating, "We have closed your refund request for the order ### because it is not eligible under the A-to-z Guarantee. The A-to-z Guarantee protects buyers when they do not receive an item or an item does not match its description. Although we understand your disappointment, you received the item and the item matched its description". How in the chip n' dale hell does this make any sense? THE MACHINE DOES NOT WORK. Not only that, it clearly states under the item description that it is eligible for return if the item is DEFECTIVE. When the stock status showed on 1 in stock, I should have known it was going to be a faulty, old, stuck in the back of the warehouse for years machine. Felt quite like a set up because after I completed the purchase, the price of the machine increased to almost $200 (probably for the functional ones since I unknowingly bought the last defective one). To the seller, Trust me, no one wins when they are not right within. The Amazon reps I spoke with were kind and verbally helpful. I am just hoping the most recent one I spoke with will process the return/refund as stated. I will NEVER buy from De'Longhi again. To further support this, I literally just bought a smaller, less expensive De'Longhi espresso machine with a faulty portafilter in which I returned the week before purchasing this one. After going through this nonsense with a 2nd De'Longhi machine, I decided to buy a Breville BES870XL Espresso Machine instead and it.is.AMAZING!!!! Just made a homemade caramel macchiato this morning ;-) ... show more

I have been wanting an espresso maker for a long time. I read up on this one and it sounded good. It heats up FAST, so you can make multiple drinks one after another. I love that the coffee bean grinder is part of the machine, and it has a tamper built in. Coffee is great! I have been fixing lattes almost every morning in no time! Only bad thing is it’s too tall to fit on my counter; I have to keep it in the pantry! I cannot recommend this machine too highly. ... show more

Adored this espresso maker for the first 9 months of its life span—easy to use for a novice and made excellent lattes and espressos at the touch of a button. Unfortunately, the machine started breaking down around 8 months in. First, the indicator light for the water dispenser kept turning on, indicating that it was empty when it was in fact full. Then, I had to keep pressing the espresso button 3-4x to deliver a single shot of espresso (it would abruptly stop delivering after just a few drops of espresso). Product support helped me resolve both these issues by changing the grind settings. Unfortunately this story doesn’t have a happy ending because the pressure gauge broke the next morning. My Delonghi now delivers espresso that tastes like dirt. A $$$ machine should not be giving me this many problems just 10 months in. I’m done with Delonghi and will look to another brand for my replacement machine. ... show more
