  • Love the Concept - but...
This would have been a 5-star review. The main problem here is that I had to go through 3 (yes, 3) of these in order to get a working unit. So...it appears the quality on these products are somewhat lacking, respectfully. My main problem was trying to use the HDMI-Out port. They simply would not work for trying to connect this directly to a television. Most people may overlook this, because they want to use it directly in their Arcade1up cabs. I had to send this back a couple times, and the same thing happened. Finally, I was able to secure a working unit. Once I was able to get it working to my TV, everything matched up and worked good. The question I now have is - I hope it lasts! Important - I can confirm that this works with ever drives. I purchased one from ali, with a micro SD card and all the games/roms worked. No issue with the multi carts. However, they are hit or miss. But mine worked fine. There's not a lot of info out there in respect to compatibility, so hopefully my review will be helpful. I did notice one thing. Some games would freeze my system. This appears to have been a result of the volume settings. Once I disabled my deck speakers (to off), and had my HDMI sound pass through my TV, all games worked fine. That was a major breakthrough for me, so I really hope that helps someone if your games on a multi cart or ever drive freeze. Another note, lag. These are arcade buttons. I can't claim that this is entirely lag free. However, the lag wasn't bad at all with mario jumping and contra test. Yes, there maybe some lag, but nothing breaking. Mike Tyson's punch out was great and fun. So was Kung Fu. Sound. The sound is off on some games. Most notable, Super mario brothers 1. It's not bad, but it's not perfect. You'll notice it on the brick breaking and power ups. Again, not bad, just different. Makes you chuckle. They tried. Lastly, color palette. This can be off a bit with some of the blacks. Most notable, TMNT 2: The Arcade Game. Some of the blacks look brown or gray, and the color is just off with the outline of sprites. It's not bad, but it's off. Certainly not a deal breaker. Overall, I love the concept. This thing rocks with an ever drive or a multicart. I just hope this lasts and doesn't break over time. Trying to secure a working unit was very frustrating, but the company refunded and allowed me to swap until I get it right through amazon with no hassle. So kudos on that. Be patient, make sure you test, and don't just test in the arcade1up. Check that HDMI-OUT port. Game on folks, and enjoy! :-). Best of luck. ... show more

  • Amazing
Product just as described, and is very easily installed. Different options of art work for the deck. Highly recommended. Cheers.

  • Dead on arrival
The unit I received never functioned. During the process I reassembled my cabinet as a factory 1up 3 times and assembled it as an Intec 1 up 3 times to isolate the problem to the Intec controller and solidify the fact that my components were functional. My factory Arcade1up parts worked every time. The Intec unit never produced through the screen or the speakers. I followed the instructions concisely. I tried other HDMI cords. I tried the dip switches. It never worked. ... show more

  • Great mod if you want to switch things up on an older A1U
This thing is nice and compact, and the controls are excellent. There is also nearly zero input lag (I don't have any means of calculating it, but when you press A, Mario jumps immediately, etc.). The two downsides are: 1. It doesn't work with Everdrive (though tbh this is probably the Everdrive's fault), 2. The audio is nowhere near the original NES. The audio isn't terrible, and there have been no noticeable pops or hisses or anything, the music just doesn't match the original NES. If you haven't played on an original NES in the past 10 years or so, you might not even notice though. Anyway, if you have a decent NES collection, this is a really fun way to play your games. Additionally, you can just plug this panel directly into any HDTV, it does not have to be plugged into an Arcade1Up, so that's another plus. ... show more
