This airbrush set has everything to get started painting right away. I was able to hook everything up and with a little adjusting I was spray painting in no time. The set comes with a lot of spares as the needle wears out over time. The compressor has enough power to shoot a steady stream of fine paint and I'm able to paint without any splotches coming out of the paint sprayer. You get a lot of parts in this kit and the only real criticism is that they aren't all adequately described in the manual. I'm new to doing airbrushing but the fact you get the airbrush, the compressor, various tips and the cleaning pot seems to make this a great starter set. The compressor makes a bit of noise but not oppressively so and has an adjustment knob to wind the pressure up and down. The airbrush itself seems to work great, I have only tried it with water so far and it produces a nice range of width and force of spray by adjusting the nozzle and the air pressure. One thing seems a little odd is the lid to the paint pot doesn't seem very secure such that if you tip it upside down it will fall off. I suspect this is going to take a bit of practice to get the hang of but can't wait to get stuck into my first project. ... show more

This airbrush kit has pretty much everything you need to get started but the paint. The airbrush is solid and smooth to operate. The compressor is too noisy, and even the air hose is supple and doesn't try to pull the brush out of your hand. The cleaner cup is great. Any cleaning solvent goes right into the cup and displaced air is filtered. No more homemade messy container. I haven't used any spare parts yet, but they look to be good quality as well. This was my introduction to airbrushing, and I don't have any prior experience using an airbrush. Before getting a set up I looked over a lot of recommendations for what you should use for painting models, both in the compressor and the airbrush itself. A compressor like this wasn't favorable, but I felt that it would let me get a good introduction to everything, especially with everything that was included. The good: It's a very complete starting set. Airbrush, cleaning pot, compressor, extra needles, cleaning kit. I don't expect the airbrush to be great, but starting with airbrushing I want something that I can practice and learn on without worrying about wrecking a more expensive one. Booklet that came with gives detailed start up instructions as well as cleaning instructions for airbrush, and a detailed list of all parts present. Air compressor has a stand for the airbrush Cleaning pot is solid and holds the airbrush without tipping while the airbrush hose is attached Airbrush is gravity fed and dual action Cons The kit comes with so many wonderful pieces, but apparently forgot to mention what some are or how to use them. There's a bag of rubber gaskets/washers, but no documentation to say where they might go. There's a water vapor trap, which is key for painting, but the guide doesn't tell where/how to install. Based on what's there it seems this would require a horizontal install, which isn't going to trap as well and won't let you drain it, unless you go out and buy some extra parts, and then you're going to have a very wonky set up as it won't sit correctly (or you'll have to dangle it over a ledge). The compressor is listed as running from 4-30 psi, which is great, it was in the range I'm looking for and most of my use would be at the upper end. The compressor though is worthless for this. The compressor lists spots going from 0 to 30 (going counter clockwise), the dial itself turns on clockwise, leaving no impression of whether turning on is starting at full power or starting out at the least power. After testing out the airbrush with this I saw no difference in amount of paint expelled when I maintained pressure but varied the dial (the only difference was a slight change in the sound made by the compressor, leading me to believe that at turn on it is on full power). The airbrush is a decent starter one, but I found some issues after taking it apart to prepare for future cleaning. The issue same from the nut that locks the needle in place. It was on so tightly that I could not unscrew it and to get the needle out had to unscrew the next part to accomplish this. After using two pairs of pliers I was able to finally get it off, and thankfully don't think I damaged anything in the process. However, when I went to put the nut back on, it now only goes on a small distance before stopping, and I don't want to be in a situation of using pliers that already have at least scratched up other parts. I tried cleaning the threading and the nut as well as applying some airtool lubricant, but it still only goes on so far. The airbrush is working, but I worry about long term issues as a result. Bottom line, if you have no airbrush experience, I would consider this a good introduction to using an airbrush. The kit has everything you need to get started with no other buy ins. Yes their are clearly some QC and other issues present, but the cost of this complete set is well below other options, by at least $20-50, and that can give you the room to test things out and then slowly replace the parts that drive you crazy. ... show more

This kit has everything you'll need. The airbrush itself is a precision instrument, with extra tips and all conceivable tools. It's amazing that now you can get the brush with it's own compressor. In addition, they've included the really great cleaning cup, which is the most convenient tool for the airbrush user. When I was a kid, I dreamed of having an airbrush, but it was hard to afford. As an adult, I've had one for a long time, but it's not half as nice as this and there was always too much compressor - noisy and bulky. Opening this was like Christmas! A real present to myself!
