I've been using several different airbrushes since getting back into model building and 3D printing. Several have left a bad experience (won't "go there" with the brands) but every once in a while, someone puts out a great machine at a great price. And this is one of those. I picked up the first one simply because it looked cool (and similar to the H&S Infinity I have sitting on the other side in the photo). And I was honestly impressed with the performance. It handled some of the worst paints I have in my collection without any issue at all, and tear down/clean up was a breeze. I was honestly so impressed with the original that I purchased this one to go along (it was on sale during Black Friday) and again...not disappointed at all! I went ahead and even ordered several needle/nozzle replacements because I plan on using these alongside my "bigger name" machines (Iwata, Badger, H&S). At one point, I did notice a huge drop in quality, so decided to do a needle/nozzle switch (took like 30 seconds) and BAM...back to stunning quality once more. If you're just starting out, or looking for an inexpensive QUALITY machine, I don't think you can go wrong with this. ... show more

    • A quality airbrush for $39.99?!?

I saw a review on this bad boy on youtube a couple of months ago, and i couldn't really believe it. I'd started with a cheap Master kit and have been regretting it ever since, and gradually replacing bits. Over time I've picked up a couple more cheap brushes, and they are all dead now. I got a nice Patriot, but it ran over a c note, and that was before adding the smaller needle. Then I replaced my microcompressor for a small, air brush dedicated one (quiet enough for the living room, but with a reservoir and Moar Power!). And I backordered the bad boy below. It came in on Friday. So, over the weekend I used the Patriot on Friday and the new kid on Sat and Sun. I'm no expert, but I'd easily call the NEOECO a solid 90% as good as the Patriot that ran over $100 higher. It comes with 0.2, 0.3, and 0.5 needles, several sizes of paint reservoirs, and virtually everything else you might need. All I had to change was to the quick release to the one I'm using; literally screw in two fittings, one from the kit and one from the drawer and I was painting. So far, I've just run the 0.3 that it came loaded with, and it's primed and painted everything I tried to feed through it, even when I didn't know exactly how to mix it. I haven't done any particularly detailed work (that was all brush this weekend) but I'm expecting it to excel at that as well. Overall, I found this airbrush to be an exceptional value. I have been using a Paasche Airbrush TG-1AS Gravity Feed Airbrush up until now, but I wanted to try another brand and this one was recommended by an online reviewer. The airbrush performed well. I was able to get a very fine stream with the 0.3 nozzle right out of the box. I did find that I needed to thin my paints a fair amount to get good flow. Thicker paints will prove difficult for this device. The quick connect is wonderful and I I'm not sure how I ever got by without it before. I like to clean my airbrush pretty thoroughly in my ultrasonic cleaner so having the quick connect makes that much easier. Not having to twirl the brush around to get it off the hose, yes please! The one down size, and this necessitated a return for replacement, was the nozzle tip. Unlike my Paasche, the nozzles for this airbrush are VERY tiny. About the size of an uncooked grain of rice. While the hole in the nozzles are pretty standard, the overall size of the full nozzle varies from airbrush to airbrush. The issue here, is that because the nozzle is so small, its pretty fragile. When inserting the nozzle into the airbrush after a cleaning, the nozzle broke along the thread line. In essence, the threads of the nozzle sheared off in the airbrush. I was able to get the sheared off piece out, but not without the receiving threads in the airbrush getting shredded. Having said all of that, I did order a replacement and I will just have to be very very careful when removing the nozzle. I am guessing that overtightening might have contributed to this issue, so it might be user error. I admit that. So functionally, this is great value. I really like the quick connects and the accessories this set has. Its half the price of the Paasche and it has three tips sizes to boot. ... show more
