There seem to be a few reviews on here that are a little misleading so I figured I’d set things straight. An ionizer, like this product, produces a high voltage at the tips of the small carbon fiber brushes that protrude out of the top of the casing. This high voltage interacts with the air molecules in your home and produces ions and ozone. Ionizing the air in your home will: 1) electrically charge small particles (dust) and cause it to be attracted to basically any solid surface. This will cause any surface/items adjacent to the ionizer to get dirty, as the dust will be removed from the air onto any nearby surface. 2) Reduce any odors in the surrounding area. 3) Sanitize by inhibiting viruses, mold, and bacteria. Ozone will oxidize (think rust) all of the above. Ozone is present in the air we breathe and is safe up to certain levels. How do you know an ionizer is working? We’ll you won’t for a while. You may smell some ozone at first, but the best way to tell it’s working is the ionizer casing/surrounding area slowly getting dirtier. *this is how the product is supposed to work, all of this dirt/dust is being pulled from the air and collecting on a surface where it can be easily cleaned. While this product isn’t as effective at removing dust as a HEPA air purifier, it will help remove smaller particles/mold spores/bacteria that a purifier would miss. ... show more

I noticed on the 3rd day that the house had a fresher smell to it.. I have 2 dogs and you would never lnow it. I don't know how good it is oon the dust because I need to dust...I have already purchased more to take to my son's house for my 2 grandchildren...

In the beginning it was OK. I thought it was working good then it started to leave a black residue around it on the top and also on the bottom. The only thing I could find on it was it said to clean the brushes that were on the bottom with alcohol. It was too late to send them back. I just threw them away. ... show more
