I need a shooting mat for competition, and didn't want to spend $80 for the better quality ones. This is a SUPER option to the others in this price point. Mainly because it has reinforced elbow/knee pads, as well as a thin padding inside. It works VERY well as I laid it on my hardwood floor.     • Good mattress but it smells awful

The product itself looks and feels good, durable and with sufficient insulation in its price range. BUT ... a GREAT BUT ... when it arrived it smelled TERRIBLY ugly. It was impossible to get it out of the bag arrived in without vomiting. After a few days of leaving it outside, in the air, the smell decreased significantly but did not disappear completely. I don't know if it's because of the chemicals and materials used in manufacturing or because it's stored in that unventilated nylon bag. Out of curiosity, I ordered another one of a different color to see if it smelled the same or it was just an unfortunate coincidence with the first Coyote Brown mattress. I will come back with a review after the second mattress arrives. From the point of view of using the mattress, I am satisfied, and the transport belt can be used successfully for loading the bipod. For now, I appreciated the 4-star product, taking into account only the quality-price ratio of the mattress and ignoring the terrible initial smell. If the second mattress smells just as bad I will lower the rating to 2 stars with maximum indulgence ... show more

Just a little bulky but that's a nd of normal with a shooting mat. Either it's a slightly large roll or its a slightly large folded mat. This one suits me. It has very good stitching and material. Both are very strong and seem very durable. The strap makes it very easy to transport. It stores very easy too since it rolls up well. As for size of the mat..... I'm 5'9, 190# andim using this mat with a DPMS G2 308 with bipod. Me and my rifle fit very well on the mat. I'm comfortable shooting prone and my body fits the mat with a little extra room. The thickness of the mat is ideal. Any thicker would add more weight. I carry a lot of gear so even a mat can be just heavy enough to be uncomfortable. This isn't the case with this mat. If you're a weekend shooter, this will be ideal for you too. Buying another one to have at work too. The only downside, it wasn't Prime when I ordered. It seemed like it took forrrrrrrreverrrrrr for it to get here. Hopefully that changes soon. ... show more

This is a great shooting mat. Lightweight, made of very sturdy material and I hear it's from our guys! Took me awhile to figure out to attach to my sack and be able to drop everything on the ground, pull the 2 straps and pull out the mat, lay down and rest my rifle on the bag. So far this shooting mat gets 5 stars. I really like the light weight and function. Yes, I know it's just a shooting mat. I was using an old quilt movers blanket stretched over an inflatable sleeping pad to lie on prior to receiving this mat. I like how it has 4 heavy squares sewn into the corners for elbows and knees. I like how it rolls up pretty compactly and has built-in Velcro straps to cinch the roll up. It comes with an adequate carry strap as well as the built-in carry handle. I like the thickness of the padding. I paid about $31 on Amazon Prime. I haven't had it out in the hot sun yet. I may buy the tan shooting mat as well for use in hotter weather, as the tan mat may not soak up the heat like the black probably will. I can't think of any negatives at this time. If I change my opinion, I will report back. ... show more
