Are the ants for this any special variety? We suggest harvester ants as they dig great tunnels. How many ants does it hold? We recommend 20 -30 ants. My ants are not digging. How long does it take before the ants make tunnels? Some ants start tunnelling immediately. Some take them couple of days. Each one is different, just like human! So please leave them in a quiet place and be patient. How long can the ants survive in the farm? Normally the ants will live for about 2 to 6 months. Queen ant is not a must, but having one in the system will help the colony survive longer.
