There’s been a lot of unnecessary hate toward Nautica Voyage on social media lately. If you’ve never smelled it, you might think it’s some awful, offensive scent—but that couldn’t be further from the truth. As someone with a small but diverse collection of designer and Middle Eastern fragrances, I can confidently say that Nautica Voyage is a well-made, budget-friendly cologne for men. I don’t get why some people claim it gets zero compliments or has a “negative aura.” Let’s be real—this is one of the best fragrances you can buy under $20. I haven’t tried the other versions, but the original is genuinely good for what it is. You just need to set your expectations accordingly. This isn’t a niche or high-end designer fragrance, and it’s not meant to be. But in its price range, Nautica delivers a very decent scent. The fragrance itself is fresh, aquatic, slightly soapy, with a hint of cucumber. It’s clean, inoffensive, and definitely not a “bad” smell. I can’t imagine anyone outright hating it. That said, this isn’t a fragrance designed to turn heads or pull compliments—it’s simple, effortless, and perfect for casual wear. No harsh opening, no overwhelming synthetic notes—just a light, refreshing scent that works well, especially in summer. Being an EDT, the longevity is moderate, but you can reapply it as needed without giving people around you a headache. They were all under $65 so that I could compare them for use while I am camping, which I do about 60 days per year. I didn’t want to use the expensive stuff so I decided to try out this one and some others. I am very happy with this cologne. It is a bargain and it smells wonderful. I got this for my teenage son, he needs to work on his body odor, so I got this as I read it’s a very popular scent for teen boys. I love the smell! He’s very sensitive to colognes and I’ve bought him numerous body sprays and he hated each and every one of them. I thought maybe an actual cologne not spray he would like since the smell isn’t as overpowering and he actually really enjoys the smell of this! My younger son loves it too and sneaks into it and now I have to get him his own! Their dad even really likes the smell and he usually gets the expensive brands like Armani GIO and Calvin Klein Euphoria and he really likes this scent!
