Very good value My grandson's really liked it we had a lot of fun and still are enjoying it. The age all depends on how engaged you are with the child you should supervise him with these anyway If a 2-year-old can really enjoy it then I think most children will as well.

I never tumbled rocks in my life so I purchased a tumbler. I just picked up rocks and pebbles from my land and started tumbling. Some came out cool and fun looking, some were just gravel. So I purchased this refill, all the stones/gems are super cool. Anything from Hematite to Jasper to Rose quartz. Kit contains 3-1 lbs bags of assorted stones/gems plus each of the four tumbling grits. It has an identification booklet and concise instructions. Pretty easy to follow...1 bag of rocks and 1 packet of grit...2 bags of rocks and 2 bags of grit and so on. The stones were all cool rough but can't wait for them to be polished.
