  • ONE OF THE TRULY GREAT NANCY DREW ADVENTURES!
Platform For Display: PC Download
This installment in the series is one of three that have changed the look -- the format -- the actual "feel" of the game. The last three in the entire series, "Alibi in Ashes," "The Deadly Device," and "Tomb of the Lost Queen," have a new, crisp graphic interface, with great voice-overs and stunning overall effects that are missing in all other games to this point. Nancy, in this particular adventure finds herself in Egypt, close to the Valley of the Kings, searching for clues to the whereabouts of the lost tomb of an unknown queen of Egypt, said to possess great wealth by way of diamonds, gold, and other precious metals and stones. She must deal with a bevy of suspicious characters, and even a COBRA in her bed! The tomb, itself is full of tunnels and all manner of traps and strange walkways. The puzzles, also, are not just diabolically difficult, they are also fun to solve. Everything in the story is tightly woven into a very good narrative, and when a "Fatal Error" occurs (As such errors usually occur in the Drew Series), one can just click the left mouse button to return to the plot and try again, rather than listen to the complete conversation that follows the "Error." The adventure keeps you guessing as to "WHODUNNIT?" just because there are enough despicable characters involved to bring this about. Really, this is one of the truly great Nancy Drew adventures, and I highly recommend it! Just short of the excitement of "The Deadly Device" (The best of the series, in my opinion), this game, nevertheless, will keep you on the edge of your seat! ... show more

  • Difficult Game
Platform For Display: PC Download
If you like a challenge, this game is for you even on amateur setting. There is no ability to use a map where you can jump there without retracing your steps. Also, you cannot by-pass any challenge by skipping. Lastly, the hints aren't very helpful, they give you how to begin solving a puzzle but do not suggest where you should be or an item is. I had to use the cheat sites and never finished. This is user preference and skill level, not the fault of the game. Lastly, this is an older game so I had difficulty downloading and starting the game, kept getting a DirectX 9.0 is not installed. Solved this problem by going to Microsoft and downloading the driver. Game loaded after that. ... show more

  • Booby Traps Freak me Out
Platform For Display: PC Download
This is now one of my favorite ND games. I didn't think I'd like it so much. Someone said it wasn't scary but for some reason this game freaked me out. Just the whole idea of being in a tomb and all of the booby traps. The sound effects were great and when the sound of stones falling or walls crumbling happened I looked around worried something would fall on me. This game was a pleasant surprise. The deaths were awesome by the way. I really liked the character Dylan, he was probably the most enjoyable one to talk to. The others weren't too memorable. The only sad thing was that it was easy for me to figure out who dun it. I knew the villain right from the get go so that part of the mystery was taken away. People were complaining about lack of areas to explore but the further you get into the game, the more tunnels you have access to, so I liked that aspect. ... show more

  • Nancy Drew is always great fun!
Platform For Display: PC
My girls and I play Nancy Drew games together. We've been doing this for quite awhile. The Queens Tomb is a very good play! I would not say it is the best, but would rate the game above average. It is a a bit predictable with repeats of other stunts, and objective you've seen in other games. Also, the game allows you to get to other levels of the game without knowing how you did so. My disapointment with this game in general was the lack of new ideas and strategies. The setting was exciting, but the way through the game was similar to the other Nancy Drew games we've played. Regardless, we'll always love the Nancy Drew games and we always look forward to the new ones. So keep them coming! ... show more

  • Enjoyable
Platform For Display: PC
I love the Nancy Drew games, but this was not one of them. Was rather disappointed at the way it began. The beginning of the game felt as though something was missing. The introduction of Nancy's story regarding the missing team was cool, but then it suddenly jumps straight into the sandstorm and Professor Boyle getting attacked. The graphics are super impressive and the puzzles in the game are challenging, brain teasing and enjoyable to do. ... show more

  • Solid ND Game
Platform For Display: PC Download
I’m a big fan of Nancy Drew games and I’ve played most of them. This is what I expect from a good one. The puzzles were satisfying and relevant, gameplay was challenging but steady-paced and the characters all shady but compelling and integral to the story, and the theme was ambitious but they nailed it. Maybe I’m getting too old to replace old favorites I’ve had since I was little but this is in the top 5 for sure. ... show more
