    • Need to update firmware to get it working all the way
The camera just says in the app that it is "fetching video." I have to go into the events section to see any pre-recorded video with no access to real-time video. It records about 10 seconds or so anytime it sees movement. If someone breaks into my garage I will only see them for about 10 seconds. It just isn't useful, but you get what you pay for.     • Easy to install, professional looking
This camera was smaller than it seemed in pictures, which is good. Very easy to install and setup. Connected to the MyQ app in the first try. We already had the MyQ app for other garage door products, so we had no learning curve this time - but even the first time was relatively painless. Thus camera has a small wall wart power supply that must be plugged into a 120 volt standard receptacle - make sure you’ve got a receptacle near your preferred installation location before ordering. Picture quality is excellent in day time. In a totally pitch black garage, you’ll see little or nothing even in night mode - there needs to be at least a little light for the camera to see anything. It does have audio capabilities, both speaking and listening. The MyQ app displays Chamberlain product ads, which takes up valuable display screen space on your smartphone - which is annoying. But otherwise, the app is easy to setup, learn, and use. ... show more

    • Easy to install? SURE. False motion alerts several times a day rendering it useless? YES
So I picked up one of these for my garage here on Amazon. I installed it and connected it to my network fairly easily. It integrated into the myQ app with my 4 openers. Everything so far so good. Then the trouble begins. I set the motion sensitivity to the highest. I started getting alerts of movement in my garage. I would look and nothing was there. This was happening 4-8 times a day. So I turned it down from level 4 (highest) to level 3. Same thing. So I moved it down to the absolute lowest setting. SAME THING. I would get alerts several times a day usually when the sun would set or come up. The camera would switch to night vision or back and alert me that there was motion. This is NOT how motion cameras should EVER work. So I reached out to support and might I say that their support team seems very responsive and helpful. I got immediate responses and things to try. None of which worked. They tried to then say that this is how their camera should work. That it will respond with an alert when the lighting (outside) changes. This makes no sense since the sun goes comes out and goes away EVERY DAY. Even at the lowers motion setting? Pointless. Support said that maybe they will address this in the future and to keep checking for updates. Several months later with no updates or help (or not even a response from their support team when I reached out to them last week) I have decided to just remove the camera and install something else. I will try to return this one. I guess I can say that if you plan to use this camera for motion sensing and alerts, you might as well not buy it. It is useless in this sense. If you plan to just use a camera to look through into your garage from time to time then this camera is ok. Time to find something that works correctly. Oh also, no storage of video at all.     • Great Camera, Crap Software
I bought one of these refurbished and thought it was problematic, so I returned it for a new one.....I have a myQ Smart garage door opener that uses the same app, so thought this would be an affordable addition that would allow me to use the same app to see inside my garage, so seemed like a no brainer. The new camera seemed to work more consistently, but I couldn't use the microphone speaker. I called customer support and they had me download a Craftsman app to get the camera to work, but it doesn't notify me when my garage door is opened and closed like the myQ app does.....they really need to get their crap together when it comes to their software! Other than that, the camera itself works great. Clear image, night vision works well, sensors picks up movement like it should, even when bugs come in sight. ... show more

Just like the title says. I can’t complain when I only spent $30 bucks when there’s $100 options out there. Maybe I got a bad unit, but the night vision feature has a terrible lens flare on mine, except there’s no light coming in for it, so I don’t know where it’s coming from. Perhaps the LED on the light itself is working against it? Microphone is whisper quiet even on full volume and absolutely terrible quality therefore practically useless if you care about that. MyQ app overall is pretty bad when incorporating this. Takes forever to load live stream and half the time it completely freezes forcing me to close the app and try again to see my feed. My garage is already in the myQ system so I just wanted a cheap option and this delivered on that, but I may shell out a little more and catch a sale on an ecobee camera since the rest of my home is on that platform. ... show more
