I asked the nurses in the hospital of I should go with this or Boppy. I was advised that this one is better for newborns so they don't slide down and is more secure. (I did end up getting one of each). If you can only choose one- I'd definitely get the my brestfriend. For a couple of weeks my newborn would only nurse if I walked around, I was recovering from a c-section so this pillow helped there because it once strapped tightly it could help bear a little weight so it wasn't all on me (I did make sure to still hold my baby myself so I wouldn't trust that it could bear all weight). I don't know if the raised spots on this one is standard but on either end there is a raised circle like where the baby's head would rest and when I was having to multi-task like eating while nursing, those spots seemed to help support my baby's head in a way to make it more level while nursing so I didn't have to use my hand. The pocket on the side was nice for his pacifier, nipple cream, and other misc items I may need on a whim while nursing. Many people said they didn't understand the pocket's purpose, but that's what I used it for and found it was handy. My baby is now 2 months old and I still use this nightly during the nighttime feeds. It helps me feel more secure when nursing while groggy. As you can see in the photo- my husband also found it helpful when he wanted to game while giving me a break. Haha Very easy to use! Cover is easy to remove and wash! I'm really lazy and literally don't hang dry anything like everyone advises- it did not shrink in the dryer- the clip did make a bit of a ruckus. Get a waterproof cover to go on the pillow directly as it is not waterproof. May sound silly but I didn't not realize this until once it was covered in pee, spit up and milk (we were having a rough day) lol I did love this Lily of the valley pattern, and it was also the lowest cost! ... show more

I love this pillow, it makes feeding so much easier and more comfortable. My LO has difficulty latching and having to fight with the boppy pillow to stay on or not to roll her downward only made feeding more difficult. This pillow stays in place and it's flat so there's no issues of her rolling downward. We've had it a month now and use it constantly and it's holding up well. The pillow itself is very light and comfortable, it sat nicely either above or under my postpartum belly and didn't cause any discomfort. I would recommend this to any mother but it's great for anyone with a larger chest. I'm a petite person but my chest size is currently 36 DD - 40 DDD (depending on the feeding day) and I have found this pillow helps support the weight of the breast. The wrap around feature is really helpful in supporting your arms/elbows as well. When it's 2 am this thing is really a lifesaver, it's bad enough being so tired and top it off trying to fumble with a baby and a pillow only makes it worse. This pillow makes it a lot easier to just snap on and plop in a chair to feed. I haven't removed the cover yet to wash it but I don't think I'll put it in the dryer, the cover fits very snug and I would worry heat drying it would cause shrinkage. There's not much give to the fabric so I would be mindful of how you wash/dry it. ... show more

This is perfect for cross cradle with a newborn. It has awesome back support for me, and the adjustable strap keeps it sturdy and level for baby. I love the head supporting bumps too. My only complaint is that I wish the cover was 100% cotton, but it is nice and waterproof. I also wish the replacement covers weren't so expensive. But all-in-all, I really like this pillow and use it more than my Boppy right now while baby is so small. ... show more

Never buy a Boppy again! I have both a Boppy and a My Brest Friend pillow and the My Brest Friend is by far the superior nursing pillow. PRO -Straps around your waist so it securely stays in place. No constant readjusting needed! (I am long waisted and I am able to secure My Brest Friend at a level where my baby can reach my nipples. In contrast I have to put an additional pillow under my Boppy in order for my baby to reach my nipples) -Flat surface that is close to your body - no more baby falling between Boppy and your body. Baby is in good ergonomic body position for nursing and it seems better for their spine. -Hands free nursing (for me at least)! I can help baby latch on and after that I can let go and use my hands to do other things, like type this review. With my Boppy I have to stay at least one hand on at all times. -The pocket is useful for a small item like my phone or a pacifier. CON -The slipcover is a serious pain to put back on after you wash it. I am getting better at putting it back on but it takes way longer than a Boppy cover. -The slipcover does NOT wash well. It didn't shrink but the color faded so much after the first wash I was shocked. (I washed it in cold water, on gentle, with Dreft, and air-dried it). It says on the tag that color will fade after washing but I was stunned by how much it faded. It looked a year old after just one wash. Note: If you are wearing this while standing/walking with baby always make sure you are holding your baby! Twice the buckle has suddenly come undone while I was standing and if I hadn't been also holding my baby it would have been a bad situation. I would give 5 stars if the material didn't fade so much after just one wash. ... show more

I wish I had this pillow from day one! It's the absolute perfect pillow for a newborn to help nursing be easier. Bobbys and some other similar pillows were the wrong size or just didn't hold my newborn well because he would fall in the curved part of the pillow. This one is flat and goes against you snug so that your newborn can easily get positioned to eat. Seriously wish I would have had this pillow for newborn Nursing. However, once baby does get to a larger size (15ish lbs) it wasn't as helpful. But also by this point I didn't really need it anymore because he knew how to latch well and we had a rhythm down for nursing. ... show more

I did 18 months with the boppy with my first and I wish I knew about this instead. This is so much more comfortable stable and easier. I would only recommend this product to breast feeding moms.
