Got this for a bunk at a camp so we can sleep more people. With 7 foot ceilings we weren’t sure if a bunk was even possible. This has worked out perfectly. We used an old full mattress on the bottom which was 18” - as adults we still have decent clearance - especially considering it’s a camp. 8yo loves top bunk. I (~190lbs) have been on the top bunk - I could definitely sleep there, but it is a little unnerving getting in and out of top bunk. I wouldn’t recommend it for larger users even though it has a decent weight rating. I am a 36yo female who is not in the most amazing shape. I was able to put this together on my own with no special tools or equipment. Read the directions carefully; it’s easy to accidentally attach things upside down. But it is absolutely doable for anyone. We’re all very happy with this purchase. Glad the larger full mattress was usable. This bunk bed is not sturdy and it shakes after putting it together. It's for my two sons who are 7 and 5, and when they get in bed you can see the frame shaking. It also came with lots of scratches and the stickers are impossible to remove. We will keep it as a temporally since it's cheap, but wouldn't recommend it. ... show more
