I wish I had this from day 1 in the hospital!!! Before I go into my experience, let me just tell you why. It might look really rigid and gimmicky, but once you use this pillow you realize how much thought was put into this design. The cushion is firm so that you can position your baby easily without him accidentally shifting or slipping into gaps, or even falling off. The lumbar support really does help with comfort. And the belt makes it super convenient so YOU can also move around without ruining baby’s latch and positioning. Also inside the cover there’s a plastic cover so you don’t have to worry about cleaning the cushion. I’m a first time mom who was blindsided by how difficult breastfeeding is. You think you know before giving birth, but you really don’t!! I put off getting this because I’m frugal, only getting the essentials. So I thought I could make do with just reusing my pregnancy pillow and bed pillows while nursing. It was a struggle because the pillows would slowly shift around and baby’s little body would start slipping into gaps. And fixing it alone was even harder, with a baby in your arms and all. Finally I decided to go with this one because my lactation consultant was using the original My Brest Friend in her office. I realized it was very comfy and super helpful in positioning. Breastfeeding is hard enough, just get this. It’s such a game-changer. If not this one then get the original, it’s just as good, I only got the deluxe because it’s slightly bigger. I don’t know everyone’s situation, but personally this is my most important breastfeeding item. I thought it would almost set me back but it’s been worth every penny. Btw I’m 5’ 5” and around 280 lbs. Idk my waist measurements but I am bottom heavy and I use this with the belt almost as tight as possible. Yeah I like it pretty snug. Works just fine. ... show more

Love this pillow for many reasons! First the back support is phenomenal. As a larger chest mother not having to lean forward to feed has been a game changer. Next, this pillow has a large laying pad for your baby. No matter what side you’re feeding your little one is well supported! Side note: it also doubles as tummy time support for your little one! Finally, the design while being aesthetically pleasing is also functional! It is easy to take off and wash and even has a plastic barrier under to prevent any moisture getting into the foam. As a 2nd time csection mom, this pillow has been a game changer in my breastfeeding journey. I wish I would have known about it with my first. It is extremely comfortable, I love the added back support. I love the overall security it provides being so snug to my body. There is no wide opening or the need to constantly adjust the pillow like with traditional breastfeeding pillows. I feel safe knowing if my baby does fall asleep on the pillow, there's no gap for them to roll into. I adore the added pocket as well. I throw pacifiers and my phone in there when I'm on the go at home. I'm also a plus size mama and I was worried it wouldn't comfortably strap around me but it is a perfect fit. This pillow is excellent for breastfeeding a newborn. The cover is a soft, lovely color. The pocket is quite convenient for a burp cloth, nail file, breast pads, or whatever item you'd like to keep close. It cleans well and is easily adjusted for a wide variety of sizes. I would say if you're extra small, this would not accommodate your body well. It gives great support and helped my back much more than other name-brand pillows in the early months. Unfortunately, babies will outgrow this pillow by 3 months old. I was also disappointed that the waterproof cover only covers the front part (where the baby lays). The lifted spots for a newborn become a hindrance as babies grow. The pillow also makes the mother excessively hot. That may not seem like a big deal, but when your baby is feeding 12 times a day, with some of those feedings being 30-40 minutes long, it is a huge nuisance. This is not travel-friendly, but that was not important to me in the early months. While there is room for improvement, I am (mostly) happy with this pillow. However, for the price, I would have loved to know this wouldn't fit my baby for very long. If you can budget multiple breast feeding pillows, I would recommend this for newborn feedings. Just be prepared to purchase another by 3 months. ... show more
