  • Awesome charger for BMW i3!!!
Size: 25Amp NEMA14-30
Recently bought a BMW i3 and quickly wanted to upgrade the included 120V charger. Purchased the 26-Amp version with NEMA 14-30 plug as our house was pre-wired for anticipated electric car charging. It took a little under 3 hours to charge a half-depleted battery. If the battery were fully depleted, I'd imagine it would take 5-6 hours for a full charge. Using the included 120V charger would've taken nearly 12 hours, or longer, to charge from empty. The display gives useful real-time information including charging time, total electricity consumed in kwh, output power and charging voltage and current. The included accessories are a nice touch. I did install the cable hanger and holster to complete the look of our home charging station. As with other reviews, the connector is very snug when plugging it into the charging port. I don't find this a problem as I'm sure it'll loosen up over time. Pulling the connector straight out helps. I wish the rubber protector cap on the connector were detachable, as it is unnecessary when using the wall-mounted holster. The charger looks sturdy and the cable is super beefy to withstand many years of use. Great product at a great price! Update 4/4/2019: After about a month of use, the charger continues to work like a charm. Charging from a fully depleted battery takes a little under 4 hours. We keep the charger continously plugged into the electrical power outlet. Because of this, the total electricity consumed never resets and shows the cumulative total unless you unplug the charger from the wall. Curious, as the time to charge resets everytime the car is plugged in. Would be nice to have both reset so that you can see the time to charge and kwh consumed per charging session. The only way to achieve that is to simply unplug and plug back into the wall. Just a minor annoyance. Regardless, the display is definitely a nice touch compared to chargers without one. ... show more

  • Excellent high quality charge cable, but watch the plug
Size: 25Amp NEMA10-30
I have used this cable for 4 years and it has always been dependable. I have the old 26 amp version & I now see they are rated at 25A, which may be good because when I unplugged it from the wall outlet (NEMA 10-30 version), I noticed that one of the blades on the plug had gotten hot, and it was melting the plastic of the plug. The plug always got warm while charging, so I didn't think much of it until I unplugged it and saw the evidence of heat buildup. I always assumed the warm plug was due to pushing the current limits of a 30 amp circuit. Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to check your plug from time to time to make sure it isn't getting TOO warm. I'm removing the plug and converting to a NEMA 14-50, which can handle more current and seems to be standard for EV chargers. I'll have to convert to a 50 amp circuit too, but at least I won't have to worry about it overheating. Update 8-23 I should have contacted Mustart before posting a negative review. I still have reservations about the NEMA 10-30 version, but they offered to replace the cable, hopefully with the NEMA 14-50, even though it was well past the warranty period. I didn't think that type of commitment to standing behind products even existed anymore! As I said earlier, the cable has been very dependable- it just keeps working under daily use (sometimes with two cars)-other than keeping an eye on the plug, I couldn't be more satisfied. ... show more

  • Perfect if you have dryer near your garage.
Size: 25Amp NEMA14-30
This came very quickly, about a week before the car. Because I have dryer outlet right next to garage it required no expensive electrical work, just plug it in and run it the door to car. Works great, charges quickly, would buy again.

  • Very good product, great customer service
Size: 25Amp NEMA14-30
I used this Mustart Level 2 charger as my only charger for almost two years, part of the time it charged my 2015 Nissan Leaf, and for the past 8 months, my Hyundai Ionic 5.. About 1.5 years after purchase, the unit stopped working. This unit comes with a two year guarantee. I contacted Mustart and with a reasonable amount of documentation that the unit had failed, they replaced my unit with a brand new one. Also, the long cord has made charging away from home quite easy along with the compact size. I needed to purchase an adapter so that I can use my family's dryer outlets, they have different plugs, making it easy to charge when I visit. ... show more

  • HEED THE WARNING
This product seems to have a sort life expectancy, about 2 years, right around the supposed warranty. Have used the charger once a month, for 2 years. The charger is mounted inside my garage, away from any possible weather damage. It has not been removed or taken around traveling. All the sudden the screen doesn’t light up anymore. My 2021 Bolt displays error message of “unable to charge”. Have taken the car to public charging stations, car works fine. Have put a different Level 2 charger in the same outlet and worked fine, outlet is not malfunctioning. Contacted Mustart customer service and was given the only option of reviving 40 percent off ANOTHER PURCHASE, if I left a FIVE STAR review. I will NOT falsify my experience with this company. I purchased a product and expect it TO WORK. Please reader, look at the HEEPS of other ONE STAR reviews. This product is making quite the track record for itself; breaking down, MELTING plugs and DAMAGING car’s charging ports. ... show more

  • Nice level 2
Size: 25Amp NEMA10-30
I was a bit surprised how well this charger worked, it's simple plug and play, charging my solitaira from 5 to 100 in 10 hours. The built in monitor shows the Amps and KWh levels and they seem to match the input of the car. It was definitely less expensive than putting in a hardwired unit while getting comparable charge speeds. I didn't notice any heat buildup on the unit after the full charge which was something I was concerned about. The length of the cable is great too. I would definitely recommend this unit if your looking for a decent level 2 for an old dryer plug ... show more

  • It’s Working
Size: 25Amp NEMA10-30
The product came nicely boxed with no materials missing. I would suggest reading the manual so you know what the different flashing lights mean. The only thing that I see that doesn’t quite work on my car (CX-90) is the locking mechanism when the charger is plugged in. Also, as some others have mentioned, the plug itself is a little tight when inserting. Other than those two things, it seems to be doing the job. ... show more
