  • Decent Starter Kit
Size: 4 Pads & 3 Cymbals & Stool
This is a decent entry-level option for beginners, particularly kids or teens who are just getting started with drumming. The inclusion of USB MIDI connectivity is also a plus. However, while this set has some positive features, it’s hard to ignore the feeling that it might be a bit overpriced for what it offers. For a set that is marketed at this price point, the overall quality kind of falls short. The mesh pads are decent, providing some sensitivity and a quieter practice experience, but the built-in sounds are quite basic and lack the depth and richness that you would expect from an electronic drum set at this price point. The drum pads produce a somewhat flat and artificial sound, and the cymbals, in particular, are underwhelming, with a tinny tone that doesn’t offer much in terms of realism or dynamic range. Additionally, the volume levels can feel unbalanced, with some sounds being too quiet while others are overly sharp, making it difficult to get a consistent and satisfying playing experience. If you're looking for a more authentic drum sound, especially for recording or serious practice, this set might fall short of your expectations. In comparison to other electronic drum sets in a similar price range, the sound quality here feels subpar. For adults, one of the biggest drawbacks is the size. The drum pads and cymbals are compact, which makes them ideal for younger players but too small for older teens or adults who may feel cramped while playing. If you're tall or have a larger frame, the setup can feel awkward and may require some serious adjustment. It’s tailored more toward children or smaller players. The build quality, while not terrible, leaves a lot to be desired. The frame is prone to wobbling, no matter how much effort you put into tightening the screws. It’s worth noting that while the overall construction is acceptable, it doesn't feel particularly sturdy or durable. In terms of value for money, there are certainly more robust options available in this price range. Brands like Alesis or Roland offer beginner-friendly kits that, while possibly more expensive, provide far superior build quality, larger pads, better responsiveness, and a more satisfying playing experience. ... show more

  • Great deal
Size: 4 Pads & 3 Cymbals & Stool
This is a really good deal for someone wanting to get into electric drum sets. It is on the shorter side but it is big enough for a average sized adult to use. The sounds are really good although not super adjustable outside of the different presets. You can't build a custom kit as far as I know. The one con is it's a bit wobbly as you work to get everything in its place but you can get it tightened up and it plays and sounds really good. We plan to use it for outdoor gigs when we just need a quick setup. But would be amazing for practice or maybe midi recording. You get a ton for the money and it is super easy to move and setup. ... show more

  • Tilt & Tip.
Size: 4 Pads & 3 Cymbals & Stool
This kit is a great one for beginners. There are a lot of options for kits, it has songs to play along with, the feel of the kick and hi-hat pedals isn't quite right, but they work well. The pads have a good bounce and feel nice. The tubes used for the frame are a little "wimpy". They will work well, but if you tend to play aggressively, they should hold up. It is a decent set to learn on. There are a few "areas for improvement" that would upgrade this kit and make it a lot more customizable. While the snare and toms rotate in their brackets, and the brackets rotate on the frame, there is no side-to-side tilt adjustment. If you wanted to get the toms lined up so the surfaces are in an arc, like the inside of a bowl, you can't really do that. The pad heads are always going to be parallel to the piece of frame they are attached to. The hi-ht pad attaches with a bracket on the frames horizontal tube. You can angle it and slide it, and adjust the height. That is good. The ride and crash only mount to the two vertical canter posts of the cage. You can only adjust the height. Adding two more of the brackets used for the hi-hat and loosing the two tube caps that hold the cymbal arms would make them adjustable. -and for production, it would probably be a wash. I'm learning to play drums this year. I have been playing electric bass and guitar for three decades, so I figure it is time to learn another. I do have a Nitro Mesh in the studio and picked this one up for practicing at home when I don't feel like going to the studio for 30 minutes of play time. This kit doesn't offer the adjustability of the other kit, but it is great for practice and to learn on. The sounds and features in the module are good. There is enough in that little "brain" to get you up and running. In all it is a good little kit for someone that wants to learn, or is thinking about learning drums. ... show more

  • Great for MIDI work
Size: 4 Pads & 3 Cymbals & Stool
I was a little weirded out when I got this setup as it looked like a kids toy. I am happy to say that it works well and can take some serious drumming without issues. I connected to PC with MIDI and it really helps to have a physical setup like this as while I can use a waterfall to set beats, I much prefer to be hands on 😁 ... show more
