Troy-bilt 4cycle TB539E, lower indicate it is BC720, gearbox on BC720 is likely 753-08180. It is shorter than what came with the original, which I’m guessing 753-08180. And also the screw that goes through the shaft center is on 180 degree on the other side so I had to mark appropriate location and drilled the shaft pipe. The gearbox turns less smooth, it catches here and there but it might be due it needs to be broken in. Not bad for the price and I hope it will work for years. ... show more

It is rather noisy when running. I replaced the head on my Troy Bilt trimmer so I could use a different string trimmer head and it works great for that. It is just really noisy.

The gear assembly went on with no problems. If you look in one of my pictures, you will see the old one. The gears were all chewed up . Amazon shipped it and I had it the next day. I paid for next day because I needed it right away.

The gear box seems to be an exact replacement part (at least for many string trimmers). It is a very easy and simple repair. However, in my case, the string head in my Chraftsman WeedWacker was integrated into the output shaft of the gear box and could not be removed and reattached. I had to purchase a new "universal" string head and attach it. The new one was a much better head anyway. It all works great. ... show more

This was an exact match for my Troy Built. It was an easy replacement, but I had to make do with a couple of nuts and bolts I had on hand. There were a couple missing. I am sure I could get replacements, but I was ready to get back to work.

The motor head fit my weed eater very well and when I turned on the weed eater it performed very good, I will be able to use the weed eater for a very long time. if you need a motor head for your weed eater I highly recommend.
