Installed on a John Deere riding mower to help with traction on a hilly yard. Our original tires would slip and spin if the grass was the slightest bit wet. No slip since installing these. These tires can easily push the mower up hills without loosing traction at all. So powerful, that on wet grass the original front wheels can be pushed along sideways. The ride height is higher with these, so adjusting the mower deck height was needed, but easily worth the effort ... show more

Got these tires for the wet spots in my yard. Suppose to be the same size as my oem tires but they are taller. Got them installed and cut the grass. Rolled right through the wet spots I usually spun in with my original tires. Took 10 minutes to install and work great 👍

Tires are great. No more slipping. They also evened out my mower deck on hillsides. No more slanted cuts when going across a hill. They don’t tear up the grass as much as some bar tires would, yet they have plenty of grip.

Been adding air to my craftsman 26hp YT4500 lawn tractor for years. I bought these wheels/tires because I liked the more aggressive tread. I had these in my garage for year and half, then started thinking, may not fit since they say for John Deer. Went out for first mow and my tires were so bad this year the sidewall was rotting. So, decided will try to install these and was simple, 5 minutes per wheel to install. Jack up back of lawn tractor, take rubber dust boot off wheel, remove clip on wheel with flathead screwdriver, take off the washers, pull off wheel, watch for the square key thing in wheel, it will fall out or get it out before removing wheel. Grease up the axle, put wheel on, line up wheel with the little square, put the square long key in, only goes in one area. Add washers supplied to make enough to just be able to get clip on wheel. Then put dust cap, front and back wheels go on same way except front has no key for wheel, since is not driven by engine. Easy, never will procrastinate again. Tire was even still full of air and had been sitting in garage year and half. The more aggressive tread already was a huge improvement, I kept spinning tires on tall grass etc, now plows right through. ... show more

I have some drainage ditches on two boundaries of our residential property. The standard turf tires on my mower will not always climb out of the ditch easily, especially when the ground is wet from the summer rainy season. I needed something with more aggressive tread. I was searching for bar tread that is commonly used on farm tractors when I found these tires ready-mounted on wheels that match my OEM wheels. I am very happy with how the tires perform. In the photo, you can see tracks cut by the tires but those are on the weedy surface of the undeveloped lot adjacent us. In the healthy turf on my side of the property line, the tires simply dig in and climb, without scarring the surface at all. Regardless of what these tires do to the ground surface, I do not get stuck in this ditch. Occasionally I have had to pull my mower out of this ditch with a come-along-winch when I got stuck with standard turf tires. Installation of the wheels/tires was pretty simple. My mower is almost new so the old wheels slid right off after the retainers were removed. I have taken wheels off of old fixer-upper mowers that was quite a chore though. Over time, rust might have seized the wheel to the axle on an old mower. I suggest applying a thin coat anti-seize compound to the axle when reassembling. In event that you want to switch back to your old wheels someday, or you need to repair a tire, this will ensure that it comes off easily the next time. When you get your new wheels and tires installed, you may need to readjust your deck level and height. The wheels were the same size as my OEM wheels but the deep treaded tires are a bit taller and wider on the outside measurement. (See photo of the OEM tire and the new tire side by side.) How to instructions, for adjusting your mower deck, are available on YouTube or from your local mower dealer. I encourage buying the tires already mounted on wheels. Having said that, these are priced so high from some Amazon sellers that I would not buy them ready-mounted. I received a pretty good sale price on this set. I have changed out tires on riding mowers before. I will only say that it is not a job for anybody without access to professional tire changing tools except maybe for a pretty resourceful DIYer. ... show more
