  • A Powerhouse - Even With A Single Card Using Triple Monitors
First off, I am not using crossfire, just a single card, and it's a beast. Physical: This card is absolutely gorgeous. I have never owned a GPU that looks as nice as this card. I want to show it off, unfortunately you have to hide it in your case. The card is extremely well built. You can tell MSI put time into the design and style. Nothing about this card makes you think they cut corners or went with cheap parts. All high grade capacitors, fans, and solid metals. Performance: I am not a bit-miner and never plan to be, I bought this card with the intention of gaming. This card tears through anything I throw at it. For example, I can play Battlefield 4 in Gaming Mode (977mhz) and get a constant 60+ frames per second in Eyefinity (Resolution: 5760x1080p), and the temperature stays around ~60 degrees Celsius after hours of gaming. When putting the card in OC Mode (1007mhz) even a single card gets pretty warm. I was getting around ~78 degrees Celsius with no noticeable performance gains, just more noise and heat. So I stay playing in Gaming Mode. Noise: After playing a demanding game for one hour+ I noticed some pretty steady fan noise. Nothing to be concerned, and quieter than a stock cooler. But once you start stressing the card with Eyefinity, you'll hear the fan, but nothing concerning. When in idle/on the web/emails/etc. the card is silent. Heat: On a single card setup and had no issues keeping the card under 80 degrees Celsius even in the most demanding games and using the preset 1007mhz overclock. You can easily feel warm air flows out of your case which is normal. It never feels too hot at any time. Conclusion: If you want a high quality card, built with care, that will play games with ease, even in a triple monitor Eyefinity setup, this is it. I cannot say anything about crossfire setups, but if I were to purchase multiple GPUs, I would probably look towards the reference blower design: Pulls air in, pushes it through the card, and exhausts the hot air out of your case, rather then any of these non-reference cards that just circulate the air around your case without having it exit. ... show more

  • good performance as well
This card so far has given no issues after I installed it on my system, this card is not the same that has been review on youtube, this must be a second iteration for this card model from MSI, you can tell by the position of the power connectors on the card, the difference being that on the previous model once you snapped the power connector you where somehow unable to pull them, unless you use a flat screw driver to push or break the security connector itself. This is a replacement for my old GTX 660 Galaxy OC, big improvement, I dare to say 80% improvement on performance, the CPU is a I5 3570K with 8 GB ddr3 1333 RAM, so far I have been able to play Far Cry 4 for about 7 straight hours, no heat issues so far, one thing, with my case without the side case lid on, it reached 78 Celsius degrees, but closed it reached 82 Celsius degrees, I need to add at least one more fan to my case. The other game that I have tried is Dragon Age Inquisition, good performance as well, Mantle for this games seems to work fine so I have no complaint about Mantle so far. The card itself is offering a massive value, at least for me it is, it is offering full 4 GB of RAM, great Overclock capabilities (water cooled preferred for this part), this time around I came to AMD because of the value and performance that they are offering with their products right now. So far so good, great item, and the best part is that I have had 0% need to call customer service and that is a great thing. XD ... show more

  • Never got the AMD Gold Rewards but the card itself was decent.
This may not be a big deal to everyone, but I never received the AMD Gold Rewards and the Civilization Beyond Earth codes. I've called Amazon 3 times and each time they say that they will send it and 2 of them even offered to call me back in 48 hours to make sure I got it. But no one called back. As for the card itself, It's decent. The fans are quiet, though the card does run a bit hot. I've reached upwards of 80c, but AMD has said that it's capable of running at 94c. As for the performance, coming from a Radeon HD 7770, I expected higher frames per second. But it's still good enough since It allows most games to be maxed out. Though playing Battlefield 4 with super sampling on will probably kill your performance. There is one major problem however, at one point while playing Metro 2033, the screen began showing graphical artifacts. There were green dots everywhere, like green dust. But the problem continued even after exiting the game. Restarting the PC didn't fix it so I thought this card was about to fail just after a week of owning it. But I switched the BIOS switch back and forth once and I haven't had any problems since then. So I have no idea what that was. Also, if you get this card, make sure it has Hynix memory chips rather Elipdia. The Hynix ones have the lowest fail rate. ... show more

  • Silent and cool
I had my mind set on this card for a long time already, so once it dropped to 250ish I ordered it without hesitation. The only issue I had was a BIOS update that was necessary for my motherboard (MSI P67A-GD53) but got it figured out quickly and was up and running in no time. So far, I can say that this card met and exceeded my expectations in many ways. I game at 1080p so performance-wise I feel this is a slight overkill. My PC case is fairly large and well-ventilated, so the temps are not an issue either, but the silence of this card is a big step up from my XFX HD7950 DD - even with a custom profile in MSI Afterburner it just hums along. I regularly take it to 1100 Mhz and so far no issues whatsoever for many hours. Latest AMD Omega drivers are the best treat for this card, please update to them if you haven't done so already. ... show more
