  • Expensive, but worth every penny for me.
Grabbed this for a fourteen percent discount and it has powered through everything I’ve thrown at it. I gave up on a 4090 due to the outrageous prices; a 4080 seemed like a good compromise between price and performance. Ran the Unigine 2 benchmark at 1080p setting and it achieved a top 300 score without breaking a sweat. See photos. Temperature never exceeded 65C and the fans never got past 40% during the test. That’s astonishing for what’s supposed to be a “bargain” RTX 4080. I also love the fact that this card isn’t laughably huge like most other 4080’s; this thing slipped easily into my mid-ATX chassis with no problem at all. Oh, I almost forgot, this card is downright quiet compared to every other graphics card I’ve ever owned. I had to use my Craftsman inspection mirror to look at the fans to confirm that they were spinning because I could not hear any fan noise even with the card under full load. Performance is outstanding and easily beats my Gigabyte 3080 Vision OC by 40-50%. My MSI 4080 Ventus clocked up to 2835 MHz right out of the box; I haven’t even bothered to overclock it yet because frankly there’s no reason to do so. I certainly don’t need any more performance from it. So far I’ve played Fallout 4 (heavily modded) and some Meta Quest 2 VR games and this card just tore through them all. I also love the look of this card; it’s far better looking than most other 4080s imho even without RGB. If you’re still on the fence about buying a 4080, I strongly recommend that you consider this MSI 4080 Ventus 3X OC. It’s a strong performer, it’s cheaper than most other 4080s, it runs quiet and cool, and it doesn’t look gaudy or ridiculous like most other RTX 4080 cards do. And it’s likely one of the few 4080s that will actually fit in your case without the need for major hacksaw surgery lol. ... show more

  • Great Card!!
The MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 is an absolute beast! With 16GB of GDDR6X memory and the Ada Lovelace architecture, it handles everything I throw at it with ease. The Tri-Frozr 3 cooling system keeps it running cool and quiet. If you're a serious gamer or need top-tier graphics performance, this card is worth every penny. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Best GPU I've owned by far.
Paired with a Ryzen 9 5950x CPU at 1440p, this card handles EVERY game I own at max graphics with max raytracing at MINIMUM 60 fps in even the most unoptimized games. I tend to get 100+ minimum fps in my most graphically demanding games, and many many games tend to run maxed out at my 237fps gsync cap giving me the full use of my monitors refresh rate. The biggest thing about this particular model for me wasn't even the massive performance difference between it and my old 2080 Super, but rather the temperature. Under absolute FULL LOAD for several hours, the hottest I've ever seen this thing get is 66C, but tends to remain at 62C~ the vast majority of the time. The fans are so quiet, zero coil whine, and my room doesn't get boiling hot like it did with my old card. This is the highest quality, best performing card I've owned. It's my first MSI model too, before it was always EVGA brand. If you're looking to get this card, I would recommend checking out the 4080 Super release date depending when you see this review, because I hear that's supposed to be slightly cheaper than this and (obviously) slightly higher performing. ... show more

  • A Beast
This thing is an absolute beast and takes every game set at 2k 120HZ just fine. I don't have any issues with the temperature or fan noise.

  • Great card awful value
Card is very quiet and runs cool as even this "budget" cooler is oversized for the card. Value is questionable, but there have been coupons and other bundle deals that bring the card into somewhat palatable territory for enthusiast builds.

  • Great GPU
Runs below 62C and that's with the fans off! The fans don't turn on until 65C, so plenty games I never hear the GPU fans. On a gpu intensive game, the fans are still really quiet. Able to play all games on max settings.

  • Sent us a used card
We purchased this card, and after we received it, we noticed the box was ripped and had a sticker on the top thanking us for giving the card a second chance... NOTHING IN THE DESCRIPTION SAYS IT WAS USED!
