I like to restore and upgrade old Macs -- part of the challenge of this is finding a compatible drive. The MSATA form factor is great because there are tons of adapters that convert it over to various other protocols. I've used this drive with IDE adapters for several G4 Macs with great success. DRAM or DRAMless doesn't much matter when your IDE bus will only run at 66MBs under perfect situations. These drives have no issue maxing out what bandwidth is available. OS9 starts right after the chime and PPC OSX loads after a few seconds more. It's hard to go back to a regular spinning HDD. I can't wait to try this with Sorbet Leopard and a dual G5 to see the difference. ... show more
