My husband’s very expensive hearing aide quit working during the time he was sick and in the hospital. Doctor’s and nurses and the family had to get near his ear and holler for him to hear, it was very awkward. I needed to do something, so I bought one of these MSA PRO’s to try it out, and it worked great. So, I bought a second one. He has used the pair for 3 months now, keeping one charging while wearing the other. I paid about $30 for each, and it has been well worth it. Item is a bit big for my ear but it does amplify sounds. Sometimes it amplifies them a bit too much that I hear everything. AFter 10 plus uses, the volume/sound doesn't work as well now but it still does a slight job of helping me hear.
