I got this when I bought my lithium battery for my motorcycle. I love that it is versatile enough to do both. It's a simple plug and play and that makes it really simple. It's very quiet with no noise at all. It keeps my battery charged and everything going smooth. I like that the light indicator is very easy to read so I know the status of my battery at all times. I also was able to charge an old lead battery by simply pushing a button to change the mode. It was the same with that. This was easy to use, has lots of clip/mounting options, but the charging transformer head does get a might toasty ( 🔥 ). I use it to trickle charge up a 640Wh Lith Ion battery pack and it takes a day or so to fully charge, so be patient. Oh yeah!...also does 12 lead acid car batteries!

I returned the first one of these I bought because I thought it was defective. But the issue was not the device, it was the "instructions." I've put those in quotes because the sheet whcih comes with the charger are not really instructions, and that is part of the reason for the less than fives star rating. While the sheet contains safety information, features, and charts there is really nothing whih explains how to use it. And while, after literally decaudes aroundc cars and motorcycles I thought I know how to handle what were always pretty simple devices, one which handles dual types of batteries as this one does is not that clear cut. The issue is how to access its two different charging technologies...one for lead acid batteries and the other for lithium-specifically lithium iron phosphate, or LiFePO4. And the first step is to be sure your lithium battery is indeed this type. I don't know if the charger will work on other lithium batteries but give the potential danger of improper charging of lihium units I would not suggest trying. And that is what caused me to return the first charger, thinking it was defective when I connected it and the lead acid LED lit up. What I did not realize is that the charger does not automatically detect the battery type (and I don't know if any do) and that you ahve to manually switch it. But I also would not have known how to do that had I not just read comments in questions from other buyers. I did see the little circle wih "Mode" written on it. I did not realize it was a small, domed pushbutton. Nor would I have knowne that you have to press this for the mode you want if the device is not already on that mode, prior to connecting it to the battery. And of course you can only do this by first plugging it into line power and before connecting a lead to a battery. And if you are going to later switch to another battery you need to remove it from the current battery and the line power and allow all LEDs to go out before doing the switch. Once I read these comments and went through this process the correct LED lit and it appears to be working just fine. I wish there were real instructions with the unit to describe that. Would have saved me, Amazon, and the manufacturer wasted effort. As far as the apparent wuality and equipment with the unit it is appears to be a match for more expensive units. It has "SAE" leads and two different cords to clip into the charger. One ends in alligaator clips for general use, and the other ends in connectors which allow permanent mounting to a battery so you easily connect to a unit permenanetly installed in a vehicle. The leads on both cords as well as the power cord itself are of significant length to be convenient. While I cannot yet comment on how well the charging or maintenance functions operate I have no reason to believe that they will work just fine. All in all, after a bit of frustration and delay which are not faults of the device but only the paperwork, I think this is a good buy and unit. ... show more

Bought this charger to charge the grandkids power wheels car. The original lead acid battery bit the dust so I bought a lithium battery to replace it, which takes a special charger. So far it has worked good, no problems.

Is it normal for it to get VERY warm?! Charging a LifePO4. After a few hours it's not hot but scared to go to sleep with it on charge. Love you guys and wouldn't want burn you up!

This is the best little charger I have ever had I bought a second one I was so happy with the first one. I got the first one for an electric bike I built and the second one to keep my tractor charged in the winter. I like it because it will charge both lead acid batteries and lithium beaters.
