It's always good to keep a charger with your electric car at all times, even if it is hard a 16amp charger. My car didn't come with a charger, so I got this one to keep in my car for those roadside emergencies. The charger kit is fairly compact, has an adapter for regular household outlets, and is built well for outdoor use. It has a good screen with a clear readout, and works just as I expected when I tested it. As a 16amp charger, the charging speed is slow, but no slower than any other 16amp charger I've used or tried. The slower speed is what gives it the comparability to work in standard outlets, which was more important to me as since it would not limit where I could charge in a pinch. So far, I have not needed to use this charger, but I feel better knowing I have it and it works well when needed. ... show more

With this portable EV charger, I have found that this has operated better than what I had originally expected. The engineering of this ev charger was done with high expertise. Here we have a NEMA 5-15 & 6-20 Plug. They do offer different amp levels, so I do appreciate the variety in that sense. The amp range is from 16amp /32amp and finally a 50amp available to choose from. Below, I will outline some of those special features that made this particular EV charger stand out over other similar ones on the market. *Level 1 & 2 EV charger- Smart LCD display- Provides charging updates- Portable and simple to travel with- NEMS 6-20 and 5-15 plugs are included *Quick charge - 45 mph at max charging rate of 50amp *Controller Stand - INCLUDED *Cable storage rack - Also included *Extra storage bag - included *Fireproof materials *FCC certified/approved *Copper wire- thick *Smart chip *Protection against: lightning, leakage, ground, low voltage, over voltage, over charge, over heat and over current. I tested this on a Chrysler Pacifica PHEV 2024 and an older Chevy volt. It worked well on both vehicles on the normal 115 outlet and charged both without any issues. I have not tested using 220 because I don't have a 220 outlet. It comes with a nice carrying bag and it is easy to put the cord inside. Only thing to note is the cord is average length not super long. I would check the distance you need the cord to be before purchase. It is still a good length cord but I noticed shorter than my other charging cord which is super long, but a bit unwieldy. ... show more

I actually got this to keep in my emergency kit in our tesla! We are always going on road trips and not everywhere has charging stations so this is amazing to bring with you. Super lightweight but also very heavy duty and well made. It has a great cord link and the thickness of the cord is also excellent as well! Very heavy duty and well made! This has an amazing design and it works smoothly. Just as good as our name brand charger if not better. His charge is up the vehicle super fast and everything hooks up seamlessly. It takes no time to get it set up and if you are familiar with using a charger you can easily use this. This is super versatile and I really could not be happier with it! I actually had to use it this weekend when we traveled to visit my mom and I was very impressed by how quickly it works and how long the charge lasts! Definitely an amazing value for your money at half the price of the name brands. Got to give this a solid 10 out of 10! If you're thinking about it definitely don't hesitate ... show more

    • Fine no-frills but versatile charger

This is the 4th level-2 home charger I've used and am satisfied with how it works. A couple more expensive ones had more features ( like WIFI capability), but nothing essential or that I'd really miss with this one. Being able to easily set different levels is a big plus for me - I primarily charge at two different locations - one has a 50 Amp outlet and the other a 30 Amp outlet - being able to set to either 24 or 40 Amps is great. It comes with a case and packs about the same size as the level 1 charger that came with the car, so it really is portable (although it takes some effort squeeze into the case). At 20' the cord is shorter than the others I've used (all 24'). Wouldn't have thought this was a big difference, but due to the odd placement of the outlet, enough that I have to back the car into our garage to reach it with this shorter cord. The only thing about that the makes me wonder is that the portion of the cord between the outlet and the "body" is lighter than the rest of the cord - the other chargers all had cords of the same weight their entire length. I'm not an electrician but it seems unusual to be configured that way. However have charged 8-10 times with it so far and it is working great. ... show more
