With Google family link I can block all the apps I didn't want him to have access to and he can still play a few games and listen to music. Bonus for being able to use kids messenger to contact him when he's at a friend's house. He just connects to their Wi-Fi and voila! Since it's an android it was super easy to set up. Battery life seems to be pretty good. He uses it for 2 to 3 hours a day playing games and listening to music and hasn't had any problems. He just charges it at night. I bought this for my son who is 8, he loves this! There’s a few games, he enjoys being able to play Spotify and other apps. Connects easily to Bluetooth (the car, portable speakers, headphones) and can also plug in head phones. He has dropped it a number of times and the screen is miraculously still intact. Purchased this for our child to listen to music. The player works great and has similar features to a phone. A little disappointed that there doesn't seem to be parental controls on it. Maybe I haven't been able to find them but I'm very familiar with the Android OS and it's running on an older/simplified version of that. Also, the player is pretty heavy. It shows it's a quality product. But, for a little music player it would be much better if it was 2-3 ounces lighter. There doesn't seem to be too many options to get Kids Spotify on a basic player for kids out there but this little unit fits the bill nicely if not with just a few flaws. ... show more

Died on day 44 after delivery (14 days past 30 day return window) will not output sound on speaker, headphones or Bluetooth. plays for a few seconds and then sound goes out, will randomly come back on for a few seconds. Appeared to be a defective headphone jack, I'm Bluetooth, I don't use the jack. There were some great things I liked about it. Was able to install Musicolet from the play store. Was able to connect a Bluetooth button and connect to motorcycle at same time. Was able to remove almost all non-essential apps and all the kid friendly features. Had a long battery life at 12 hours of Bluetooth play. Edit: Seller sent a replacement, will continue to evaluate and update on the replacement. Defaults to 50% volume each time it makes a Bluetooth connection. Annoying. Back side scratches quite easily in a phone mount. Seems to run hot. Survived in direct sun on a phone mount. ... show more

This is a nice looking and good feeling MP3 Player; however, it is full of problems. I cannot transfer music files from my Windows Computer to the G5 Player. Battery Life is very short. Only holds a charge for about 3 hours when in standby mode. Cannot interface aps which are supposed to work with my android phone and windows pc. Have sent 2 emails to their customer support and have not hear a word from them. If I cannot get these issues resolved and get it to work as advertised, I will be sending it back to Amazon and asking for a full refund and looking for a different MP3 player with similar features as this one. ... show more
