  • Perfect for my kid
Color: Rose Gold
My daughter loves it and uses it daily

  • Get the protection plan!
Color: Blue
This lasted about a year before the buttons stopped working. Prior to that, my 8-year-old really enjoyed it. The speaker quality is poor, but didn't bother her. She has ADHD and was never able to create her own playlists/choose songs, but she also didn't have the patience to learn. I imagine most 7/8 year olds would be able to, if they're motivated. We did get the protection plan, since I had a feeling she would need it. So, with the credit from the extra warranty, she's chosen to get another of the same. (I was leaning toward a Sandisk which lacks the games, but has a better warranty.) ... show more

  • Had high hopes for this player.
Color: Blue
We have a 14 year old special needs daughter who really loves music. We have had (and loved) the SweetPea children's MP3 players (we had each of the two generations and, because they were dropped often, had to open them multiple times to re-solder the speaker wires and battery wires). The SweetPea had a very nice, simple interface and a very adequate 2" speaker. We wanted to buy another one but, unfortunately, they are no longer available. We found this AGPTEK K1 Portable 8GB Children Music Player when we were searching for a kid's MP3 player with a built-in speaker. When we received it, it worked adequately and as we expected. The speaker is tiny and doesn't have very good sound quality but our daughter was happy. However, within a couple days, the speaker started breaking up and stopped working (as it would if there was an intermittent and bad connection to the speaker). When it stopped working, we found we could tap it on one of its sides and it would work again for a while. Unfortunately, however, it finally failed in a way that we couldn't get the speaker to work at all. The headphone jack worked OK, but our daughter will not keep any headphones on (plus we generally don't like kids using headphones to be in their "own world"). So, we applied for a return and received a second one. Unfortunately (but not surprising), the new one failed just like the first one (this second one didn't work too good out of the box and only lasted a day). So, the second one is going back for a refund (not an exchange). It is really too bad -- we wanted it to work. We would really like for someone to begin producing the SweetPea again but don't hold out too much hope for that. Bottom line: If you want an MP3 player with a built-in speaker, look for something else. ... show more

  • Strongly Recommend!!
Color: Rose Gold
I got this product for some kids in a residential behavioral treatment facility I work at where they have restrictions on what they can and can’t have access to on their MP3 players and this player meets all the criteria and more. The games are a great addition to an already well designed MP3, and the kids love how simple it is to navigate. I wish there were more color options for people in the states, but I’ll make do with the pink and blue for now. I also wish there were another similar MP3 player that was maybe for one age group up from what this one is designed for just to have more options for MP3 players with a game mode. ... show more

  • Good purchase for little hands
Color: Rose Gold
If I could ask for one more thing, it would be a written letter or something to indicate to the adults in the crowd which button does what thing. Other than that, it is a fantastic player; speaker is loud enough without blasting music. It has a game, which I have no idea how to use so I cannot help her with that. Color ships without regard to order specs (wanted blue, got a pinky kind of color) but the color has no effect on the unit itself. When charging it, it sometimes turns on and BLASTS music (at midnight, in this case -- no one was happy) so try and charge it during awake hours. So, good purchase; solid unit. Big enough for little hands. ... show more

  • Awesome idea!
Color: Blue
My son is instantly dancing around and very happy! He is 18 mos old. Has a couple pretty good songs so far. Will let you know how it holds up. Just got it today. I wanted a music speaker for my son, that was simple and had more music that wasnt lame! Most things are either headphone only, no internal memory, lame songs, have horrible reviews, or have a USB stick that my son can easily break inside of it. I love the idea that it is expandable, and the microsd slot is very hard for a small child to mess with. I love the idea that it has a couple games. His first simple games when he gets old enough!(if it lasts, fingers crossed) Its boxed well. When I received it I almost thought it was a gift from someone else, box is cute and very easy to gift! It has a LCD type screen and I'm really impressed with the quality. I would have LOVED this as a kid, teenager or honestly, for camping trips and stuff as an adult. You can use headphones too! It's a win win! ... show more

  • Overall the best I could find for 2 year old. Built in speaker is poor, needs kid proof setting.
Color: Blue
Overall it's a great little device. It was difficult to find a small mp3 player with built in speaker with simple physical controls so my almost 2 year old could turn it on and flip through songs, given this is the only one I found it gets 4 starts on that alone. PROS: - great size for little hands - functionality: the software is pretty good with lots of options - no touch screen, operation is with physical buttons - battery life is good CONS - would pay higher price for a better speaker. The sound quality through it is not just tinny (unavoidable due to size) but it distorts easily and overall sound like it's probably a very cheap paper cone type speaker. - the firmware is good but it should have an option which limits buttons to either play/pause, next song. It's too easy for my son to get into a mode (like "settings" or "games"which he can't get out of. "Young child mode" would be great. -no battery indicator ... show more
