Description

Motel 8100 ECO-lite is 100% Synthetic engine lubricant with a focus on fuel economy. Meets API SN Plus standards to provide higher performance and added protection against LSPI for direct-injection and turbocharged gasoline engines. The composition of the lubricant provides outstanding oxidation resistance, good anti-deposits protection, and increased engine cleanliness. The 0W-20 viscosity grade minimizes oil friction for increased engine efficiency, which can lead to improved fuel economy. It improves oil flow at startup, which leads to faster oil pressure build-up and allows your engine to reach the optimum operating temperatures sooner.

  • Excellent Oil
Great oil that I will continue to use in my '22 WRX for each oil change.

  • How often I change engine oil.
Can't say enough. I change my oil as often as I feel necessary. I am constantly listening to how my car sounds and preforms. I don't like it when my car seem louder then it should be so I changed the oil. It is usually about 50 percent of the oil life according to my cars menu. After I started using MOTUL I found I am change it around 30 to 20 percent of life when I notice my engine is running louder. Sorry I don't know the mileage but I was told the oil life is based on mileage. I decided to go by sound because I get nervous when it sounds louder and I just don't feel comfortable waiting till the car says I should change it especially when the engine sounds louder or different. I should also mention I drive kind of hard. I cruise on the freeway about 80 to 110 depending on the car and traffic. I am not a kid racer. I just cruise in that sweet spot were the car respons best. I have more then one car but only one has this oil life thing but have notice my other cars are going longer between oil change and I usually change oil on them ever 2 to 3 months depending on the sound or 3000 even if it sounds as I think it should. ... show more

  • 2018 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2L
Originally I ordered Redline oil but my order was cancelled not sure why. So I searched for motul brand which I’ve consistently used for my sport bike. Anyways I recently bought a used 2018 GMC Yukon denali 6.2L from a dealer. I don’t trust other peoples quality of work so even if they claimed to change the oil I wanted to be sure of what my NEW to me Used suv had in it. I removed the cheap oil filter they put an replaced it with a KN oil filter . Prior to install I always fill the filter with my new oil lube the gasket then install. I always use k&n on my personal vehicles. Removed the oil pan drain plug which was left loose by the so called dealer. Drained the oil for a while to get all the lame oil the dealer chose . Filled it with the specified 8quarts. Reset the oil percentage on the dash. An noticed a major difference once I drove it. The 6.2L engine rated at “420hp” seemed to be a lil sluggish with the old oil. Obviously not a race car but the acceleration an the quick shifts from the 10speed trans mission we’re noticeable. I also use premium gas from shell an only shell. Not worried about gas mileage much but I’m sure under normal driving conditions I’ll see a improvement due to The reduction of friction with this oil. I’ll continue to buy motul. It’s also approved for use in gm engines with a DEXOS stamp. More peace of mind to keep my depreciating investment running a long time. ... show more

  • Great oil but they jacked up the price by $14.
Update: The oil is top shelf but they jacked up the price by $14. How come Shell, Exxon Mobil and BP did not do that with the Pennzoil, Mobile 1 and Castrol? When one thing becomes 2x the price of the other you take notice! ————- I have been using Motul oil in many of my cars for years now. When I was in the military, my job there was to work fuels and lubricants. Based on my knowledge I research products to use in my vehicles. Motul is a genuine full synthetic lubricant. They have different formulations, including some ester based oils but all of them use a synthetic lubricant as a base. In US, most of the motor oils marketed as synthetic are not exactly such. With Motul you can have a peace of mind that the engine of your car is well lubricated under all temperatures. And if you care about longevity, the better lubrication is paramount. So the few dollars extra are the best money you will ever spend on your car. ... show more

  • I have increased my average gas mileage by 3 MPG city driving
I started looking for a new synthetic oil to use in my car's since I have become less impress'ed with the Mobile 1 oil that I have used when I started driving in 1975. My father was on the development team for Mobile 1 so I knew it was a great oil. Over the years I think Mobile has diluted quality of Mobile 1 so I sourced for a replacement. Motul ECO-LITE is great. I see no sludge buildup or varnish deposits on engine parts. Also it has improved my milage I get in my Subaru Crosstrek, Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V AWD. I have gained an average 3 MPG in the city driving. I change my oil every 6,000 miles and the oil less dirty than the Mobil 1 when I drain it. It still has a dark amber color to it in stead of the dark black color of the Mobil 1. Its not cheap oil but using good oil is a lot less expensive that major engine problems caused by cheap low grade lubricant. Bottom line is it's a great product, and worth the extra cost. ... show more
