  • Fantastic value and quality
MOTU's Symphony is fantastic. There may be better Orchestra plug-ins that will come out as time goes by and for all I know they'll be in 5.1 surround and take up 500GB on your hard drive, but for $300, I'll take the 8GB worth of sounds MOTU offers. All of the instruments sound beautiful, and even the hard-to-reproduce instruments such as saxophones, church organs and solo strings (violins, etc.) sound almost too real to be emulated by a sampling program like this. Effects like glissandos and trills are included for these instruments as well. The only disappointing sound group is the choir; it's perfectly serviceable for minor oohs and aahs along with a huge Wagnerian orchestra, but upon close listening, you can tell it's a keyboard. E for effort, though. Like Ethno, my favorite feature is the ability to load up 64 instruments and activate/deactivate them on the fly using an assigned key on your keyboard. Since some of these instruments have multiple playing techniques, it comes in really handy. ... show more

  • iLok is rubbish!!
I have never been able to get this worthless thing to work. $300 down the tubes! total WASTE!! RUBBISH CRAP!!! The worst part is the iLOK thing (worst idea ever!!) totally broke and now they want $50 bucks for a new one? I mean, it takes up an entire USB port so that it can run a license for one [crappy] program. As you can probably tell, I am not happy. Boycott!! DONT BUY!!!
