    • Fits easily, a little stiff
Fits in my 2003 Ford Focus hatchback with the intermittent wipers and rear wiper options. Takes about 30 seconds to install. Pop off the steering column cover, take a screwdriver and press the button/tab on the old wiper switch and it pops out part-way, then remove the wiring harness from it. Attach the wiring harness to the new wiper switch and press it into place, it should only fit one way. Once it snaps in, put the steering column cover back on. Pretty easy.     • Make sure you know which switch to get.
First off, make certain you are buying the correct switch. This switch is for the hatchback-type Focus vehicles being that is has the rear windshield wiper functions. Mine is a sedan so it would have worked, but there is no need for the rear windshield function in a sedan. I did not get to see if it would operate properly. So, that is why I cannot rate it correctly and could only give it a 3. If you are looking for a replacement switch for a sedan body type, buy the Motorcraft SW5509 switch which has the 6 speed variable-intermittent function.
