Description

With the launch of the new California 1400 in 2013, and appointment of actor Ewan McGregor as brand ambassador, Moto Guzzi's owners Piaggio are proving their faith in the future and importance of Moto Guzzi. Moto Guzzi - The Complete Story charts the development of the stylish Guzzi bikes and the highs (and lows) of one of the oldest motorcycles marques still in existence. Topics covered include the origins of the Moto Guzzi factory at Madello del Lario - the oldest motorcycle factory in the world; the success at the Isle of man TT and races worldwide; the development of the V-twin engine; the De Tomaso years and the introduction of the iconic Le Mans model. • Carlo Guzzi would have loved it...
I am no Guzzi knowledge god but owned and still own Guzzis, interested in deeper Guzzi history facts the book delivered nicely...I am sure not all Models and facts found their way into this book...but I love the fact the author gives you a personal feeling for Carlos vision and later the pros and cons from DeTomaso...good read and lots of good pictures!! ... show more

  • Great story of the people and the company, along with the products
Not a spec listing, nor a ride review of all the models. This is a story of the people who founded the company, designed the products, and set the tone for the company going forward. I think I can appreciate why Moto Guzzi motorcycles are the way they are now that I know more about the people behind the company. It would be beneficial if all the executives at Guzzi owner Piaggio read this book. ... show more

  • Very enjoyable
Filled in a lot of gaps in my Moto Guzzi history. Great photos and written in a very easy to read style. I will look for more books by this author.

  • Great history of Moto Guzzi, a must read
Pullen brings the developments and the loyalty of Guzzi into your life with history, developments, improvements and market response. He aptly expresses the hopes of at least this Moto Guzzi owner. I may be a recent Guzzuista, but the book increases my feelings of loyalty to the brand.

  • Good, but I had hoped for more
Readable, but not as much historic detail as I had hoped there would be - has anyone out there written a decent history of Italian motorcycle production?

  • Really is a story.
Best of the Guzzi Stories. Reads like a good novel not a tech manual.. Cover the new bike up to today. If you buy only one book about Guzzis this should be the one.

  • The INcomplete story
How can a book be called "the Complete Story" if essential models are simply forgotten. There is almost nothing on the V11. Special Series like the V11 Lemans Rosso Corsa, Coppa Italia, Scura etc. etc. are not even mentioned. A very disappointed V11 Le Mans Rosso Corsa owner.
